So I ended up having a ‘nice little Saturday’ last night. And it wasn’t a Frank Ricard from Old School Saturday: “Well, um, actually pretty nice little Saturday. We’re uh, gonna go to Home Depot, yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, and Beyond I don’t know. I don’t know if we’ll have enough time.” God I love that movie. After an attempt to go to Bahama Breeze, which was denied due to an hour and a half wait, followed by a denial from Rock Bottom Brewery, due to a similar wait, we finally ended up at Chili’s and I forgot how much I like that place. Cheesy as it is, the 24 oz. beers are a glorious thing, as is no wait and a seat at the bar in front of the big flat screen which has the Final Four game on. We win. After 2- 24 ouncers, a sampler platter appetizer and buffalo chicken fajitas (don’t judge, we split it all except for the beers, obviously) I was fat and happy. Totally ready for the movie. I clearly didn’t get to pick this time, but I wasn’t all that upset. 21 looked like something I would somewhat enjoy. It was either that or 10,000 BC, and I was totally not in that kind of mood, except I did want to see the saber tooth tigers. Maybe when it comes out on Netflix.
I heart you Netflix.
Anyways, as you may know from all the previews, “21” is the fact-based story about six MIT students who were trained to become experts in card counting and subsequently took Vegas casinos for millions in winnings. I thought it was overall a pretty good movie. I am not the biggest gambler in the world, I am actually not even a gambler, I don’t even try. I will keep my money and buy myself a nice purse or something else thats pretty. I can’t take the risk. But besides that, the movie kept me entertained for the most part, except for the fact that it went on a little long and I thought it could have ended about 30 minutes sooner, but whatevs. Kevin Spacey was really good in it, but I kept thinking of him in American Beauty, so that was weird. I want to say more things, but I don’t want to be a spoiler. All in all, it was good a good night. I only wish the Sour Patch Watermelons (one of my ultimate favorites!!) I got at the movie weren’t $3.75 for like 15 candies. Seriously, whats up with that. Oh well, what can you do.
It really was a nice little Saturday.
