Fashion Week: Chado Ralph Rucci

Kate Monster was able to score us tickets into the last show of Fashion Week at Bryant Park in NYC. Oh how I love you Kate! Sometimes I wonder how this is my life. It was incredible. I have only seen visions of such an experience through watching L.C. and Whitney on The Hills. It was craziness. We got to see the Chado Ralph Rucci show in the main tent. All the models had their hair straight, sleek and beautiful. The outfits were very feminine and just elegant. It was great to be able to go!

Avenue Q

Yesterday morning, Kate Monster and I went to TKTS to see if we could get some fabulous low price tickets to any awesome Broadway show. We were totally successful in getting great sets in the orchestra section to Avenue Q. Kate had heard good reviews about it, that it involved muppets in some way, and it was supposed to be hilarious.

Well, IT WAS.

I really didn’t know what to expect when she told me about it, because I didn’t understand the concept and how it would be funny, or how it would even work. But it was great. The muppets were hilarious. It was mildly inappropriate at time, specifically when the muppets had sex on stage, and also when they broke out into song about how “The Internet is for Porn,” after singing a song called “Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist.” It was a great show, and I laughed the whole time.

Money well spent.

New York Road Runner: Al Gordon Snowflake 5K

This morning I participated in my second NYRR (New York Road Runner) event. My friend who I was doing the race with, Kate Monster said that the race was right next to her apartment, in Central Park, and it would be easy to get to and great. Super I thought! Until she called me after I had registered for the race and said, “Oops! The race is in Brooklyn! My Bad.” So traveling over the bridge to Brooklyn, for my inaugural visit mind you, at 8:00am this morning was awesome. It was even more awesome that we finished the race at 9:30 and didn’t get home until 11:00 since it took so long to get to the car, and the traffic was getting bad at the time. It was still a lot of fun. I am glad we did it.

My stats for the race:
Overall Place: 2108
Gender Place: 682
Age Place: 86
Finish Time: 27:40
Avg. Pace: 8:55

Pretty good overall since I haven’t done much running in the past month. I was happy about it. The race was in Prospect Park, and there were a lot of hills, way more than the Central Park races I have done. Good thing before the race I tried the Luna Sport Moons – Pomegranate Energy Chews. They were pretty good.
