New York Road Runner: Al Gordon Snowflake 5K

This morning I participated in my second NYRR (New York Road Runner) event. My friend who I was doing the race with, Kate Monster said that the race was right next to her apartment, in Central Park, and it would be easy to get to and great. Super I thought! Until she called me after I had registered for the race and said, “Oops! The race is in Brooklyn! My Bad.” So traveling over the bridge to Brooklyn, for my inaugural visit mind you, at 8:00am this morning was awesome. It was even more awesome that we finished the race at 9:30 and didn’t get home until 11:00 since it took so long to get to the car, and the traffic was getting bad at the time. It was still a lot of fun. I am glad we did it.

My stats for the race:
Overall Place: 2108
Gender Place: 682
Age Place: 86
Finish Time: 27:40
Avg. Pace: 8:55

Pretty good overall since I haven’t done much running in the past month. I was happy about it. The race was in Prospect Park, and there were a lot of hills, way more than the Central Park races I have done. Good thing before the race I tried the Luna Sport Moons – Pomegranate Energy Chews. They were pretty good.

You introduced me to these wonderful Luna chews and they are great! This past weekend I was dissapointed because I could not find anywhere that sold them in NYC. I had to settle with these jelly beans which were also good, but not as good as the luna chews. Thanks for sharing! Hopefully I can enjoy them in the future. xx
