I started off testing out the Strawberry Greek yogurt. I was surprised to find out there was fruit on the bottom. I never knew that before about this kind of yogurt. It was a pleasant surprise!

I also got a package from the Kashi Fairy! I got 3 huge boxes of cereal, a box of granola, tasty little cereal bars, tasty little crackers and tasty little crunchies. I am so excited to try them all! I will review each box as I open it and put it to my taste test! mas pics 605

I needed a little snack when I got home today pre-workout so I busted open one of these babies. Today was supposed to be my rest day, after my 12 mile run yesterday, but I am antsy and need to be doing something, so I figured if I did the Shred, that would be ok. I did level 3, and that is NOT EASY. Jillian is nuts in that level!

This Tasty Little Cereal Bar in Blackberry Graham was quite tasty. It has 7 whole grains, 3 grahams of fiber, 2g of protein, and real fruit. It definitely held me during my Shred workout and well beyond then! It was soft and I loved the blackberry taste!

The Farthest I Have Ever Run

Today was the first day I have run since Tuesday. I took off the past few days to get better, since I have been sick. Today, according to the training plan I have been doing, I was supposed to run for 2 hours today. I figured I would just do what I could do, and take it easy. I ran at the gym on the treadmill today because it was threatening rain, and it was also easier on my shins.

I watched Mission Impossible in the Cardio Cinema at the gym and I ran the whole 2 hours. It was awesome! I felt real good and the time was just flying by watching the movie. I did 12 miles, and now I feel totally ready for the Zooma Half Marathon in 2 weeks. I was going a pretty ‘slow’ pace the whole time so I was pretty proud of how far I went. Yay! I was happy that my few days off didn’t affect my training schedule.

When I came home I was dying of hunger. Naturally More sent me a tub of peanut butter, and I was ready to rip into it post today’s run.     mas pics 596 mas pics 597 Naturally More peanut butter has:

I put the Peanut Butter on Honey Wheat Bread con bananas! It was delish. The peanut butter is a great combination of creamy with a little bit of the chunkiness I love so very much. It tasted so fresh and raw. It was VERY GOOD. I had to give it a little stir, as the tub suggests, but it was very delightful. The perfect post run snack!

    Boyf’s FIRST Cheesecake Factory Experience

Saturday was not the best day around here. Boyf and I were thinking of going to the air show this weekend, but it was raining so we bailed. We decided to go to the Leesburg Outlets instead. I was SO good, I think I deserve a medal. I didn’t buy ANYTHING. Usually right before my birthday I don’t need any excuse to buy things. I just tell myself I am ‘treating myself for my birthday.’  But this shopping trip I held back! I did just buy myself a big treat pretty recently too! I kept that in mind.  Boyf got some work pants and shirt. He was the big spender of the day!

Post shopping we were HUNGRY! Boyf has NEVER been to The Cheesecake Factory so we had to go there. It was most enjoyable. We had a bit of a wait, which is pretty standard there so we grabbed a seat at the bar for some cocktails!mas pics 564

I started off the evening with a Pomegranate Mojito. It was freakin’  delish! So good! Boyf got a beer. Since we were starving we got the Buffalo Blast appetizers and it was very tasty but also very filling and we wanted to save room for dinner. I only had two.

With dinner I got the Red Raspberry Martini. OMG. It was delish. I am already stalking people to go have drinks there with me again this weekend. It was so tasty, I was lovin’ it!

For dinner, Boyf got the salmon salad, and I got the luau salad. They were both pretty big. I took the ginormous chip things off mine to save some calories. Both meals we HUGE. We left with 3 to go boxes. The portions there are just out of control. It was really good, and I am glad Boyf can now say he has been to The Cheesecake Factory!

    Top Golf Fun!

Mich has been telling me about Top Golf FOREVER and boyf and I went this weekend. It was SO much fun. It is a driving range with a twist. You get a card with your info on it, and get a bucket of balls. Each ball that you get into your basket has a chip on it, so when you hit your ball, it registers on the screen where you are shooting from. There are targets all over the place, and each shot in one of the holes gets points!mas pics 572

Here was the results from the first game. Girls rule!  mas pics 571

Mich and I having a good time. mas pics 574 Standard high school pose. mas pics 577Here are some action shots. WARNING – I suck at golf! Please embrace these two pictures. As you can see, I start with my swing on the right, and end up facing the left. haha. I embrace the ‘Happy Gilmore’ swing, where you run and jump and swing (and sometimes miss) to hit the ball! haha.

Here is a ‘better’ shot of my stellar form. I just still laugh because I beat boyf and he knows how to play! Muahaha! mas pics 582 Boyf looking sexy before taking another shot!mas pics 590 Game #2 score. Mich and her boyf dominated. I did better than game #1 so I was happy. Boyf had a rough game!mas pics 591 Also, reason #2 why this place rocks – They serve you beer while you play! They have a full menu and bar! It makes it even more fun!

I decided to surprise boyf with a romantical dinner on Friday evening after he made his trek down to Va from Pa. I decided to make Shrimp Scampi! I got the recipe from Jenna at Eat, Live, Run. It was a big hit and super easy.

    1.5 tbsp olive oil

    2 cloves garlic, minced

about 3/4 pound of large shrimp, deveined

    1 tbsp chives

    1/4 cup white wine

1/2 stick butter, cut into small chunks

    1 tbsp lemon juice

    pinch of red pepper

    1 tbsp chopped parsley

3 slices thick Italian bread, toasted and kept warm in the oven

6 ounces angel hair pasta, cooked (2 ounces per person)

    1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté for about a minute.

    2. Crank up the heat and add the shrimp. Toss until seared on all sides and bright pink. Remove shrimp and set aside.

    3. Stir in the chives, wine, butter, lemon and red pepper. Boil until the sauce is reduced by half. Stir in the parsley and the shrimp again and heat through.

    4. Toss the pasta with a bit more olive oil (to coat) and divide among 3 plates, along with a slice of bread. Put the shrimp on top of the pasta/bread and serve with a lemon wedge.
It was very good. Boyf liked it a lot and was very surprised.

The only man down situation was that I burned the damn bread. Every freaking time, I burn the bread. Sucks! Oh well, better luck next time.
