I’m siiiiiiiiiiick. And it sucks. Bad cough, sore throat, stuffy/runny nose, fatigue, the WORKS. This is totally not a good time for me to get sick. Hello! I have the Zooma Half Marathon (my FIRST Half Marathon) in 18 days. At least I have the 10 mile race under my belt. At least I know I can get THAT far. It’s those last 3 miles that make me nervous~ This weekend should be my longer runs before I start to taper, but I haven’t been able to do much this week and it is making me angry. I am totally psyching myself out mentally about this race and me being sick, and I need to just chill out and get better first and then go from there. Because if I keep trying to push it, I KNOW the race will not go well, and obviously I don’t want that! Dr. kAtemOnster told me no running until Friday. I may get some yoga action in between then and now, but I really am going to take it easy and get some rest!

Does anyone else out there take Olive Leaf Extract? I megadose on it all the time when I am sick, and it usually gives whatever ails me the one-two punch. Seriously, this stuff rocks. But this time it isn’t doing the trick. I went to the doctor and she said it’s just a bad virus (unless the strep test she took comes back positive tomorrow!) and I am just going to have to suffer through it. I am still taking Olive Leaf, because I really feel it will help me get better faster. Here are some stats on it:mas pics 538

    your juice is seriously beautiful!!! i hope you feel better soon! lots of rest and fluids– i always drink emergenC but i think your juice would be the equivalent. really just rest. also hot tea for your sore throat??? 🙁 you will be fine for the race!!! after 10 miles really as long as you don’t start out too hard, you can do it and finish strong, even if you take this weekend off to recover. your legs will be well rested and ready. remind yourself how much you have done thus far, that is still in the bank 🙂 and it hasn’t been THAT long since you were regularly running along 🙂

    Aww, I’m sorry to hear you’re sick 🙁 Hopefully you’ll get better by race day, and I hope it’s nothing serious. 18 days should be enough time, so don’t worry too much! And I know you can do that half marathon, especially since you’ve already done a 10-miler! When you get that far, just remember that it’s just 3 miles. The adrenaline will take you that far! Just relax and focus on getting better.
    I’ve never heard of Olive Leaf extract before, but it sounds really interesting.
    When I’m sick, I take Cold-Eeze and lots of vitamin C. I also try to drink a lot of herbal tea. I hope you feel better soon!
