Jam Packed Tuesday with the Bride!

Today the bride and I had our day of fun. We started off the morning with an early showing of My Sister’s Keeper. I just finished the book and let me tell you, the movie was NOTHING like the book. Completely different ending. I was kind of disappointed. I didn’t enjoy the ending of the book, but I thought it was so much better, something serious to think about, than the boring way they ended the movie. But then again, I always compare every book to movie to the Harry Potter series, and nothing is EVER as good. Anyone else see the movie or have any thoughts?

Post movie we hit up Panera. I love their you pick two combos. I got the Strawberry Poppyseed salad and the Summer Corn Chowder. Both were way to sweet for me, but they looked pretty:

Then the bride and I hit up the Leesburg Outlets. I was pretty good. I restrained myself, but I did make some smart purchases at fabulous deals. I am not one to pass up a good bargain!

Then we stopped by Lansdowne Resort, where the bride is getting married next June! Less than one year baby! I hadn’t seen the place yet, and since I am her MOH (Maid of Honor) she wanted me to see the place to help with decorating ideas. It’s so gorgeous:moving 205

I love the exposed brick, its also a waterfall, which you can’t see. And the backdrop can’t be beat. It is located in Virginia Wine Country. So beautiful!

The resort is home to a driving range, golf course, spa, restaurants, it even overlooks the Potomac at one point! I love all the character in the small details of the place.

So like I said, her wedding is a teeny tiny bit less than a year away, but I am sure the time will just fly by. I am sure everything will be beautiful. You couldn’t ask for better scenery!

No Frills Green Monster Morning

I am running low on supplies this week for my green monster mornings. This was the last of my spinach, and I doubt I will get more, since I only have 2 more mornings here. What will I do without my Green Monsters?! This one was very tasty. I finished off an almond milk so it was a little over a cup of milk, and it just made it very sweet and lovely. I also have packed away my seeds, so my GMs have been without flax, chia and wheat berries. Tear. It will be glorious when I am reunited in Philly with my seeds, and can bust open my new blender! So pumped.

Today’s GM was plain – spinach, banana, almond milk and ice. Nothing fancy added, everything else is packed away. I also busted out a blender from my grandpa, which I am pretty sure is an antique, but it does the job for now, so that’s all I need.

Here is Jackson posing with my GM. Look at how serious he looks. So regal. I love it.  I am pretty sure he is sad I didn’t make him a GM.

I had to say goodbye to Mich on Sunday. She helped me hardcore organize and get rid of stuff I was holding on to but was never going to use. It was so sad saying goodbye to her. She had to leave from my house to go up to her Grandparents house because her grandma broke her knee (I think that’s what happened) and she is coming back on Thursday, but I will already be gone. TEAR! She was so sweet, she brought me a goodbye/housewarming bag of goodies. She got me Get Happy Tea, since I will be so sad because we will be states apart, a berry bowl, which you can use to rinse the berries, and then store them/take them with you, and they don’t sit in water, it’s awesome. She also got me two awesome storage bags, since I will be having to share my space with a boy, and a candy rosary, which is a little inside thing between us. But I love it all, it was so thoughtful and sweet. Thanks Mich! You have to come up and visit me ASAP! XOXO!moving 198

I am still packing and organizing, obviously, but in a little bit I am going to see My Sister’s Keeper with the bride. I am excited, because I just finished the book, and I have heard good things about the movie. I heard from Polly that there was a few very big differences between the movie and the book. So excited to go see it and spend the day with the bride! I am so sad to leave my Virginia friends, I will miss everyone terribly, but Philly is only a short drive/train/bus ride away. I know we will all keep in touch!

Off to the movies! Happy Tuesday!

A Lovely TopGolf Afternoon

Jackson sees me packing everything up and he doesn’t know where he lives anymore! He pretty much hides under the table when he is not following me around. I think he wants to make sure I don’t forget him! Don’t worry buddy, you are coming with me!  moving 158

Today my dad, brother and I went to TopGolf in Alexandria. I love this place. I don’t really have the patience for regular golf, but when there is points and competition involved, count me in! Last time I went to TopGolf at night with some friends and it was so much fun. I was pumped to try it out during the day. Going in the afternoon you get happy hour golf specials. 100 balls for $12! That’s 5 games! Score!

Here is my brother Michael, I call him Meeks, working it out:

Here is my dad, he did the best today:

I pretty much suck. If it wasn’t for the whole point system, I would be bored out of my mind, but the points kept me interested and competitive. I play to win!

First game: Brother – 59  Me – 36 (pathetic, but I am just getting warmed up!) and Dad – 103 (WOW!)

Luckily we had some refreshments to keep us cool on this beautiful hot summer Monday afternoon. You got to love those happy hour specials! I also embrace Top Golf because they serve beer! Win!

Only So Many Hours In The Day

I have off work this week due to my move, but I have just been going non-stop. There is so much to do and only so much time to do it. I am so excited for Thursday morning when I am scheduled to move up to Philly, but I have lots to do before then!

I have been packing forever it feels like, it just never ends. I don’t have much left to pack, but I don’t want to forget anything, its very stressful. Mich came over yesterday to say goodbye, since she is going to be away until Thursday. She was a MAJOR help. Since I already had all my ‘must bring’ stuff up in Philly, she helped me go through the rest of the stuff I have here, and decide what to keep, what to trash and what to donate. It was like Clean Sweep! Have you seen that show?

I haven’t really lived at home since before college. From college I lived up in Philly, and moved all my college crap there. I have always kept stuff and home. I keep my winter wardrobe in Va in the summer, and swap it out with my summer wardrobe in the fall. It works out nicely, but I have never really gone through my stuff before. I have tons of crap from high school, and lots of my clothes don’t fit me anymore since my 16 pound weight loss. That totally cut me down 2 clothing sizes so everything from that era had to go! It is good to get rid of all that, and I just never have taken the time to go through it all before.

Its so fun how a piece of clothing can take you back to a certain place of time, and bring back memories from when you wore it. It was nice to go through that all yesterday with Mich. She was amazing. Look at how much I am donating to goodwill. Here is one pile of jeans and shirts and some shoes:

moving 153

I seriously have a shoe addiction. It’s a sin.  All of these shoes have been worn tons and totally loved, but its time to say goodbye. I can only have so many flip flips in my closet and half of these are way worn out. Goodbye fabulous shoes!moving 155

Not the most organized picture here, but there are pants, shirts, 2 jackets, a few dresses and other stuff in this pile. Stuff from YEARS ago, I know I will never wear again. Stuff that may be too young for a 25 year old. You know how that goes. We grow older and mature, and you hope your wardrobe does the same. Some of this stuff is totally still wearable, and I hope it goes in to some good hands

moving 154

Off to continue my packing journey for a while and then I am heading to TopGolf with my dad and brother. It was part of my Father’s Day present to my pops and we are just getting around to go now. Its so hard to get everyone together these days!

Happy Monday!
