I was asked about my running mix from a reader after my Half Marathon and I wanted to let everyone know what pumps me up on my runs. I love running to music, even though recently, I have been running technology free. Music pumps me up. It totally kept me going on miles 6+ during the half. I was rocking out to Britney Spears like nobody’s business! It just takes my mind off the mileage and gets me pumping along to the beat. I am a big believer in that if you listed to faster paced songs, you run faster. That’s why I fill my ‘Run’ playlist with some booty-shaking tunes:
- Got Money – Lil Wayne & T-Pain
- Feel Good Inc. – Gorillaz
- Hold Me Now – Polyphonic Spree
- Sugar, We’re Going Down – Fall Out Boy
- The Glamorous Life – Paul Oakenfold
- Lose My Breath – Destiny’s Child
- Breathe – Fabolous
- Workout Plan – Kanye West
- Hips Don’t Lie – Shakira
- Gimme More – Britney Spears
- Piece of Me – Britney Spears
- Circus – Britney Spears
- Kill the Lights – Britney Spears
- Shattered Glass – Britney Spears
- If You Seek Amy – Britney Spears
- Toxic- Britney Spears
- Stronger – Britney Spears
- I Got That Boom Boom – Britney Spears
- Damaged – Danity Kane
- Hollaback Girl – Gwen Stefani
- Rich Girl – Gwen Stefani
- Life’s What You Make It – Miley Cyrus
- Poker Face – Lady Gaga
- Just Dance – Lady Gaga
- Girl’s Night Out – Miley Cyrus
- Pop- N*Sync
- Push Up – Freestylers
- Freakum Dress – Beyonce
- Feedback – Janet Jackson
- Pull Over That Ass Too Fat – Trick Daddy
- Everytime We Touch – Cascada
- Boys of Summer – Ataris
- Call On Me – Eric Prydz
I also enjoy the GirlTalk mixes. They are perfect for my running music ADD, where I get bored of certain songs after a minute or two and need to switch it up a bit! Also, as previously mentioned, I heart Jay Blahnik. I love the Nike training runs by Serena Williams, All American Rejects and the Human Race specific ones. I try to do one or two of those a week, since they are speed training workouts. Love those!
