A Green Monster in the New Blender

The past few days I have been using my new Oster blender that I got for my birthday a month ago for my morning monsters. It is WORLDS better than the antique blender I had been using, but it still is not as fabulous as I would have hoped. I thought everything would blend up a storm within seconds and that I would be in awe of how fast it all happened, but that isn’t the case. It blends the bottom part quickly, but then the top half of my creation just kind of sits there and I have to wiggle the blender and try to move stuff around to get it all to blend. Maybe its just the spinach that isn’t the easiest thing to blend, I don’t know. I have only used it 4 times so it’s still early on!moving 338

In my monster this morning I had the usual fare – Spinach, banana, 1 cup of almond milk, chia seeds, flax seeds and wheat berries. I also threw some ice in there. I read on Angela’s blog that she put some cherries in her monster. I want to try that too! Sounds good. I love cherries, but I hate the pits! I remembered I wanted to try to add them after everything was already in the blender. Next time!

At least the new blender is super pretty. I love the look of it, and the wide top is really nice. Easy to throw things in it. Looks pretty in my new kitchen area. Woop Woop!

I love my monsters in the morning. They are the perfect way to start my day. But I have been really hungry still after my monsters recently. Anyone else have that problem? I want a second breakfast!

Jackson was hanging out with my green monster this morning too. At first he was ignoring it.  moving 347

And then he was curious about it.moving 346

And then I think he was freaked out by the green-ness of the monster. Typical boy! Embrace the green! moving 350

Still no word from Comcast as to when I will be having internet. So frustrating. Until then I am coming into work early and posting from there. Not the most convenient thing in the world, but you do what you got to do! Believe me, I will be letting the world know when I get internet. It will be a glorious day!

I just made my first couple of Green Monsters this weekend, and they are surprisingly good! I have a question though; how do you get all the spinach to blend well? I find that I still have to "chew" on little shreds of spinach.
