Island Hopping

I am in need of a vacation. I need to plan a nice little trip. I got a Travel + Life magazine in the mail the other day and it was all about the Caribbean and it made me start daydreaming of lying on the beach with a drink in my hand and waves crashing on the shore….

I need a vacation. moving 740

I like this full spread map of the Caribbean in the magazine. I went through and put “X’s” over the places I have been. I’ve been lucky enough to have gone on about 6 Caribbean cruises with my family, so I have been all over.  But there are so many places to go and things to do and see, I am eager to plan my next trip to warm weather! moving 741

I love cruises, they are one of my favorite ways to travel. You go to bed every night and wake up in a new location! How fun is that?! I love all the variety of things to eat and drink, and all sorts of different types of entertainment. I love it! For me, a cruise is perfection.

My favorite place in the Caribbean is St. Thomas. I loved the feel of the island. There was a fabulous vibe and its just pure beauty. My least favorite place would have to be Jamaica. I had a bad experience there, and don’t really want to go back.

Boyf and I have a trip planned to go to Niagara Falls in November for our 4 year anniversary and I am super excited about it. I have been to Niagara before, but boyf hasn’t. It will be fun to see the falls, go to the casinos, maybe do a little Maid of the Mist action, see the IMAX show, there is lots to do! I am excited about it, but the more and more I think about it, the more I realize how cold it could be up there. Brrrr! I need to plan a trip somewhere warm to even it out!

Do you have any vacations planning coming up? Any thoughts on the Caribbean? Part of myself things I am weird because it IS summer here, and I am complaining about wanting to go somewhere warm, but laying on an island is a little bit different than laying in my apartment complex pool. That’s all I am saying! Maybe I will have to bring the island feel to my pool here!

We didn't take a big trip this year because of the new house and renovations. But we're heading to Jamaica (our favorite spot) and Aruba in 2010. can't wait!!

Our big vacation for the year is to Budapest over Labor Day…very excited :) Though, I LOVE island adventures! Went to Grenada in November (first island and beach vacation!) and loved it. You should check it out! We had a great experience on one of the smaller islands – Carriacou. Such a great escape AND a quick direct flight from NY area airports :)

I am going to Hawaii with the boyf for two weeks in August!! But you already knew that….anyways, I am jealous b/c I have NEVER EVER been on a cruise before. My parents arn't into cruises. However I have been to the Cayman islands and swam with stingrays….best experience ever!!

Woe you are one lucky duck to have gone on so many cruises! I have never been on one, but I hear that they are so much fun :)
I am going to Honolulu and Maui in September to run the Maui Half Marathon with my boyf. I am so excited; I haven't been on a break/vacation in…2.5 years!

I went to college in Buffalo and it gets cold around November. Bring your jacket!

Aruba is always a fun place to visit and Turks and Caicos too. It is always fun planning a vacation.
