Kelly Drive 8.5 Mile Loop

I have been planning this run all week. 4 weeks until my NYC Half Marathon, and I wanted to get in some longer runs before it got too down to the wire! I had an off day yesterday to save up all my energy for this run. I was pumped when I woke up this morning. The plan was for boyf to use my bike (until he gets his own) and bike with me to help pace me/keep me entertained.

I started off this morning with an English muffin topped with P.B. loco Peanut Butter with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (which I reviewed here) and a banana. It was some serious fuel for my run.

YumYumYum! One of my FAVORITE breakfasts ever! I heart P.B. Loco and all the fabulous flavors!

Boyf and I headed over to Kelly Drive and did a little stretching. In the second picture I am holding up 8 fingers for the 8 + miles I am about to run. Such a fabulous way to start your Saturday morning, by doing a nice run on Kelly Drive!

Hi Boyf! He was totally pumped to be riding my girl bike!

Boyf had the camera with him and took some snapshots of the scenery. Sadly, he didn’t take any of me running. Next time I hope he will so I can share! Here is a picture of a really old bridge, with a new bridge passing by above it. The past and the present!moving 526

Some of the Philadelphia skyline.

Here is the Philadelphia Art Museum. This is where I go over the Spring Garden Bridge and come back up the other side of the river. I love doing loops, and would much rather do one than go out somewhere and turn around. I like running by new things. Keeps things interesting!    moving 531

I love running by the water. Here is the Philadelphia Water Works.

This is the Spring Garden Bridge I cross over. It was such a nice Saturday to go outside. Not too hot or sunny, mild breeze. It was perfect. I heart the summer.

I did the loop which is 8.5 miles in an hour and 20 minutes. Not too shabby. About 9.30 minute pace, give or take a few. I was pretty happy with it. I am feeling better and better about the NYC Half coming up with each mile I log!

Good luck to Denise! She was running the Back on my Feet 20 in 24 Ultra today! Part of that was along where I was running today so I saw the signs! I hope she did well!

Boyf and I are about to head down the VA today for the day. We are going to the bride’s engagement party tonight. I am excited to see some of my VA friends tonight! Should be a good time!

I will announce the No More Naked Popcorn Giveaway later tonight. And I haven’t forgotten about my Gracie’s Gear Giveaway either. I know that got pushed back due to my lack of internet at home for the past few weeks.  I have to announce that as well. I have something special planned for that, so stay tuned! There is still time to enter both giveaways if you haven’t yet!

I hope everyone has a fabulous Saturday!

Great job on the run! And I love PB Loco, too. My fave is the raspberry white chocolate pb. So good!

thanks!!! I have to say, I need a little break from that loop. I'll be back down there a lot for my philly marathon training, though. We'll definitely have to meet up!
