Flax Matters Giveaway!

I received a fabulous package from Flax Matters 2 weeks ago and have been using lots of flax ever since! I have made pancakes, and smoothies, and green monsters with all the flax. It has been a great addition to my diet. I love adding it to everything I can!

Fabulous Facts about Flax

  • Cultivated since ancient times as a source of food or fiber
  • The plant grows to be about 3 feet high, has small blue flowers and thrives in cold, northern climates
  • Each flower produces 7 to 10 flaxseeds, which are slightly larger than sesame seeds, with hard, shiny husks that range in color from amber to reddish brown
  • Milling or grinding flaxseed is the best way to tap into all of its nutritional benefits
  • Studies have shown that these powerful antioxidants may reduce the risk of hormone-sensitive cancers such as breast and prostate cancer

i just tried flax not too long ago when i made my granola bars. and to be honest i'm not quite sure what flax tastes like because the bars were soooo good i didn't know which ingredient to give credit too, hehe. so yeah, i'd probably add it into my granola bars again. and maybe try it on my smoothies since i see so many bloggers do that
