My New Love: SodaStream

Christmas came early for Leslie today! I came home from class and lunch with RhodeyGirl today to this glorious package from SodaStream. I am OFFICIALLY in love. September 2009 1009

Get out of the way Jackson I am trying to take a picture!

September 2009 1010

That’s better. Along with my Penguin Started Kit, I was also sent a Sodamix Taste Sampler with 12 different flavors, 3 mywater flavor essences and a ginger ale and cran-raspberry flavoring. I haven’t tried any of the flavors yet, I wanted to try the water plain and sparkling first!September 2009 1011

Let’s do a size comparison of Jackson and the Penguin, shall we?

 September 2009 1012  September 2009 1014

Jackson is not really loving the Penguin at first. Aside from the fact that the Penguin is bigger than he is, Jackson thinks there is a new pet in town, and he is not excited about that. Here Jackson is giving the Penguin some attitude. Can’t you feel his vibe?

September 2009 1015

After a while, Jackson got a little curious about the Penguin and then finally he warmed up to him. I think they are going to be great friends! They match!

 September 2009 1016

Let’s make some sparkling water! First you take the carbonator and put it in the front of the Penguin.

Next you wash out the glass carafe and then fill it with ice cold water. I filled mine up with water and left it in the fridge to chill for a bit.

Then you put the carafe filled with water in the back of the Penguin

September 2009 1019

Close everything up and gently push down on the Penguins beak.

 September 2009 1023 September 2009 1024

Open the Penguin back up, serve and enjoy!  Check out that Fizz!September 2009 1027

This was SO GOOD! I only recently got turned on to sparkling water by RhodeyGirl and I am seriously obsessed with SodaStream. The water was fresh and delicious and so easy! It took 30 seconds to make the water. I may or may not have had 3 glasses before work today!

Would you ever use a home soda/sparkling water machine? What are your initial thoughts on this product? I would love to hear what everyone thinks!

Got my Pumpkin Soup Fix

Started off today bright and early with a green monster. Boyf got the groceries the other day and picked me up some spinach and bananas so I could create my favorite morning treat! It was light and lovely and also gave me the perfect energy to bike down to Philly for lab.

 September 2009 998

It was super cloudy in Philly this morning. Check out the skyline.

September 2009 1000

That’s supposed to be City Hall, but you can’t even see it because of all the fog/clouds!

 September 2009 1001

After my first Biology Lab (which was complete with goggles and gloves!) I headed over to Mugshots to study. Promax sent me some samples to try so I had one as a snack. I tried the Honey Peanut bar and boy was it yummy!

September 2009 1002

Fresh-roasted peanuts and golden honey with a yogurt coating! These bad boys are awesome because:

  • 20 grams of protein
  • All Natural Ingredients
  • 18 Vitamins, Minerals and Antioxidants
  • Gluten Free

I only had half the bar and saved the other half for later because it does have 290 calories per bar. It was really yummy and it’s seriously HUGE!

September 2009 1003

While I was settling into my studies I had a pumpkin coffee. It pretty much does the same thing for me as my usual pumpkin latte, but it is less than half the price! I brought with me my NuNaturals stevia, which I always carry in my bag, but I didn’t need it because the pumpkin flavoring was sweet enough!

September 2009 1004 September 2009 1005

After an hour or so of studying, RhodeyGirl met me for lunch! I love our weekly lunches and I look forward to them every week! For lunch I got the soup and salad!

ISeptember 2009 1006

We finally got our Pumpkin Soup since last time, they were out! It was vegan and delicious. We both want to attempt to recreate it. So creamy and smooth and full of flavor. We were in heaven.

September 2009 1007

I also got a basic salad with green goddess dressing. Never had that before, but I had heard good things and it was pretty good.

September 2009 1008  Another great lunch, but now its back to the books! I have my first Biology quiz tomorrow and my first Chemistry test next week so it’s study time for me!

Don’t forget about my Nathan Hydration water bottle giveaway!

Fall is Finally Here!

I would like to officially state that Fall shall hereby be known as my favorite season. I haven’t been able to commit to a season in the past, but it’s just so beautiful out this time of year, how can you not love it?  So there you have it, I have a favorite season. The weather is glorious, the leaves are changing,  and there is a slight breeze in the air. I love the fact that it’s cool, but not cold. To me, its very refreshing! Jeans and t-shirt weather is my absolute favorite!

Some of my favorite things about Fall:

1) Pumpkin Carving (Check out my pumpkin from 2008)

2) Apple picking (Cox Farms 2008)

3)Halloween (Check out my costume and Jacksons from 2008)

4) The Leaves Changing in the trees

5)Eastern State Penitentiary: Terror Behind the Walls (last year)

6) Pumpkin Spiced Latte’s (I wish I had one right now)

**Boyf’s favorite thing about Fall is the smell**

What’s your favorite Fall thing?

The Fall is also my favorite season to run. I love the crisp air, and the leaves falling on the ground around me. I feel more rejuvenated running when the seasons are changing. Sometimes in the summer its too hot to run, and in the winter it can get to cold and hurt to inhale, and in the Spring it is very rainy, but I feel the Fall is juuuuust right!

What is your favorite season to run in?

Even though I love the Fall so much, I feel like it comes and goes quicker than all the other season. There is so much I want to do and see and experience each Fall that comes and goes, and I feel that winter is here before I even know it!

I better get crack-a-lackin on my massive list of fun Fall activities before Winter is here!

Did you enter to win a Nathan hydration belt yet? Do it!
