Check out my new running kicks! I needed to get a new pair after my old Asics killed my toes during the NYC Half Marathon. I decided on the Asics Gel Phoenix. Aren’t they so pretty??
I previously have had the Asics GT 2130’s and have gone through 2 pairs of them in the past year. I figured it was time to switch things up a bit. I really like the grey and pin coloring. It will be harder to see when then get really dirty!
When I put these on at DSW, I immediately felt such a huge difference. They are so much lighter than my other running shoes. They were also more breathable. I was walking around the store, and I could feel the shoes breathing. Me likey!
I am hoping these shoes will allow me to be more light on my feet and log those miles at a little bit faster pace!
This morning I took these babies on their maiden voyage down Kelly Drive. Today we did a quick little 3 mile run. Here are my stats:
Mile 1: 8:47 mi /108 calories
Mile 2: 8:38 mi/ 111 calories
Mile 3: 9:07 mi/109 calories
Total: 26:30 mi/328 calories
Not too shabby for a 8:50 minute pace after not running for 2 weeks!
I was pretty happy with my speedy run this morning, and the shoes did not disappoint! I really can’t say this enough, but they were so light, I really didn’t feel like I had running shoes on my feet. It was incredible. I love my Asics!
What type of running shoes do you have?
I really had a rough time getting up this morning and going on this run. I hadn’t run since the NYC Half Marathon 2 weeks ago. I usually always take 2 weeks off from running in between big races like that. I don’t want to burn myself out! After that sort of running break, I always have a rough time pulling myself back into a training schedule. I swear if I didn’t sign up for these races ahead of time, I would be in trouble!
It felt good to get back in the swing of things this morning. With my new school schedule, I am going to have to be more efficient with my time and plan my runs out ahead of time. I do feel good about the fact that I will be biking 9 miles to and from school 3 days a week!

i loveeeee new running shoes! i never, ever wear sneakers. unless it's for working out. but i definitely treasure fancy sneaks!
I run with Brooks Adrenalines and have for the last 2 years. 🙂 I got "fitted" at a running store and it always ends up being the best shoe for my feet.
