Sausages, Sauces and Snuggling

After Jackson’s Howl-O-Ween Party, fiancé and I realized we were starving for some dinner! We didn’t have much time to spare before game time, so we had to make something, quick, easy and delicious!

I received an awesome package from Applegate Farms today with a bunch of difference chicken and turkey sausages to test out. I am sure many of them will make their way into my meals for the next few days, so stay tuned.

Tonight we decided to open up the Applegate Farms Certified Organic Fire Roasted Red Pepper fully cooked chicken and turkey skinless sausage for dinner. They had me at “Fire Roasted!”

I really like the Applegate Farms philosophy on food. They strive to ‘operate with truthfulness and integrity on how they treat their animals and their land.’’ I have found myself shying away from meats recently because of just that issue. Its nice to be able to pick something up at the store and believe in what you eat.

I added some green peppers, onions and carrots to the mix to get some veggies in there and give the mix a nice crunch!

I was also sent an awesome package from Dei Fratelli the other day as well, and decided to pair their Homestyle Sauce with my sausage mixture tonight. I love me a good pasta sauce! This sauce is “family recipe that captures the true tomato flavor of freshly crushed a vine-ripened tomatoes carefully blended with spices and a dash of Romano cheese.” YUM YUM!

Lots of multi-tasking going on making this meal tonight!

All together now.

Post shredded parmesan cheese.

Oh man. This meal was SO GOOD. The sausage and the sauce were so tasty. I wish I had made double the amount for leftovers! Sadly there are none. Tear. Is it bad I just finished eating and am already legitimately sad there is no leftovers??

Post mixing it all together. This meal SHALL be made again! SOON!

I enjoyed a nice glass of red wine in my pretty flower wine glass with dinner. I have developed a HARDCORE love for red recently. It’s love

And after dinner I enjoyed a nice bowl of pumpkin ice cream! Complete with chocolate morsels and coconut shavings. The coconut and the pumpkin and chocolate combo was seriously genius! It was SO yummy!

Drool. If I wasn’t already so full, I would go back for seconds!

It has been a pretty great Wednesday night! Full of good times with friends, good food, and lots of doggies! Jackson is super tired. He has been passed out on the floor since we came in. I decided to join him

I love this little dog.

Jackson’s Howl-O-Ween Party

Sorry this is another post about Jackson, but he had a Halloween party with all his puppy friends tonight, so its totally worth posting about. Jackson went tonight as a dinosaur. He has another costume for this weekend which YOU all picked out! So stay tuned for that!

I love our apartment complex. Everything is so dog friendly, and its been a great way for fiancé and I to make friends with some of the doggie’s parents!

So Jackson hung out with all his puppy friends in his Dinosaur costume for most of the night. We went upstairs to a friends apartment and had a drink before the party. Jackson met his girlfriend, Ruby, who went as Tinkerbell. Supercute!

It’s so hard to get a good picture of the dogs in costume!

After a drink upstairs, we went down to the party. Everyone in the apartment complex who had a dog was out and had their furry friend in costume! It was fabulous!

Jackson hung out with all his friends. My favorite costume was Simba who came as Mickey Mouse! I love it!

All the adults hung out under the heat lamp. There was chips and dip and fruits and veggies and other good stuff to munch on.

They did such a good job with the party tonight, there was all sorts of decorations out too! Jackson had a great time hanging out with all his friends. I think he has more friends than I do at this point.

After a while I had to carry Jackson back inside. He was tuckered out!

pics 586

But when I got him inside and told him he got a goodie bag from the party, he perked right back up!

pics 567

He got some treats and a stuffed toy which surprisingly looked a lot like his costume! I love it!

And Jackson has spent the rest of the night looking like this, while fiance and I have our eyes glued to the TV watching the Phillies!
