Another beautiful day in Philadelphia today! The sun is shining, there is a light breeze in the air, its just gorgeous! I wish I was able to go for a nice long run out today, but sadly my schedule is not permitting that at the moment.
For lunch I was craving a sandwich hardcore! The wonderful people at French Meadow Bakery sent me some bread to try out, so I ripped into that today. After my 6 mile run yesterday, I was HANGRY!
French Meadow sent me Our Daily Bread to try out. This is a soft, sprouted whole grain bread made with CoroWise™ plant sterols for lowering LDL cholesterol and coated with chia seeds for a crunchy bite. This bread is a Good Source of Protein, Low Glycemic, Vegan, Yeast Free
I toasted it, melted some pepper jack cheese, added some sprouts, shredded carrots and mustard. This combination has become a standard lunchtime favorite for me.
What’s your favorite sandwich combination?
I love the crunch factor in this sandwich! Sprouts and carrots are some of my favorite veggies, and let me tell you about the bread. The bread is fantastic! Check out the ingredient list for the bread. It’s made with tons of goodies, and it’s coated with chia seeds for a crunchy bite! Me likey!
I am a big believer in dessert! I pretty much always need something to cleanse my palate after a meal (and most of the time that is something chocolate) Late July sent me some treats to try a while back and I just busted them open today. Late July sent me some Mini Milk Chocolate Sandwich Cookies.
From the website: These cookies “are organic, a good source of calcium and whole grain, and melt in your mouth good. Seven different endangered animals are featured on the cookies and 10% of the profits go to the Jane Goodall Institute to help with their efforts in endangered animal awareness. All of Late July’s products are produced without synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, genetic engineering, antibiotics or added growth hormones. These Mini Sandwich Cookies contain no trans fat, no hydrogenated oils, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, and are lacto (dairy) vegetarian.”
I love the little animals on the cookies! So cute. And these are pretty much the perfect after meal snack for me. Totally hit the spot! Defiantly took care of my chocolate fix for the day!
Thanks Late July and French Meadow Bakery for all the goodies!
