This morning I got up bright today. When I woke up I put on my running clothes right away so I would get out there I would hit that pavement I knew that if I didn’t go for my run right away this morning, I would get distracted!
It was freezing when I got up this morning and I totally bundled up for my run! I need to invest in running gloves because its only going to get colder in Philly as the days go by.
It was so beautiful out today. I was snapping pictures throughout my entire run and tweeting up a storm! It totally keeps me entertained and makes the miles fly by!
Usually I run on the other side of the Schuylkill but I went the opposite way on my run today with the hopes of avoiding the sun in my face. What I didn’t take into account was the wind! The second half of my run I was running into the wind for about 3 miles. It was a man down situation!
So pretty.
This sign made me laugh because I was not going 35 mph. Haha – I wish!! But it was a nice reminder to keep an eye on my pace!
Oh hey! Look where we are? Do this spot look familiar??
Yup – that’s our proposal spot! If that’s not motivating to keep chugging along, I don’t know what is!! 🙂
Almost halfway there.
At one point in this loop I run over a bridge, crossing over the Schuylkill. Its a small path with cars flying past me! Slow down drivers!
The city was so pretty today! Love the skyline.
My halfway point is the Philadelphia Art Museum, so obviously I have to run up the steps a la Rocky.
Made it to the top. Got to love having a good time with the self timer on my camera! I love this picture!
Then I had to stop and pay a little respect to Rocky himself!
Halfway into the run I added a ZYM tablet to my water. ZYM quickly dissolves in water and replenishes lost electrolytes. It totally gave me a little boost while running – I also love the Berry Flavor. Sometimes I am torn about drinking straight up water or adding something to the water for energy. ZYM is really good and I have had good experiences with it during my longer runs!
More pictures of the beautiful Fall day in Philly we had here today
Random berry tree. Anyone know what this is? It’s so pretty! Made me think of Christmas time! Yay!
Almost home.
I love all the bridges that I pass on my runs. They are so pretty and its wonderful to see the seasons change around the bridges in pics
Last mile or so
I finished 9 miles in 1 hour and 20 miles and felt fantastic! It was a great run and made me feel really good. I plan to get another long run or two in before the Philly Half Marathon in 15 days!
9 miles baby! Woot Woot! I am aiming to enter double digit land next week. That will be a good place to be pre half-marathon!
Post run I enjoyed a mango ZICO – Pretty much always my go-to after running beverage! YUM!
I feel so freakin accomplished when I get in a nice long run like that before 10 am! Now I am off to Scranton Pennsylvania to visit my grandma and brother! Should be a nice Friday afternoon!

I need every tip you have about running in the cold. I just blogged at Uncovering Me about it because I am training for races that will be in colder regions and my training at home is clearly not preparing me for the weather. Share your tips please!!!!
