My Frugalicious Holiday

Last night I was invited to attend a blogger event hosted by RedPlum. It was held at Continental in Old City Philadelphia.

I love the name of the event: My Frugalicious Holiday! So cute! The people at RedPlum partnered with IKEA and all the place settings were so nice. I got my eye on a few new pieces that I must pick up at IKEA soon! They’ve got some chic (and cheap) finds!

There were a few different wines that were featured.  The whole theme of the night was dazzling holiday decor and wow-them wines, all of which were under $20.00. It was nice that the focus of the night was on affordability. That’s going to be huge as we approach this holiday season with the economy the way that it is.

RedPlum had a featured coso which I obviously tried. It was yummy.

I brought Sabrina along with me last night. We have been trying to hang out for weeks now, but both of us have been so busy. We need to pick up our weekly lunch schedule again! It was great to hang out with her, I got to hear all about her experience at the Foodbuzz Festival in California firsthand!

I was sort of obsessed with this table setting from IKEA. I love the black and white, it looks classy without being to ‘christmas’y’. (Shout out to Jenn at the Philadelphia IKEA! It was nice to meet you! )pics 009

I tried some different wine which is always fun. I had to try the Chardonnay in honor of Jenna who just moved to Healdsburg, CA. It was very yummy.

Continental had lots of different hors d’ oeuvres which were being passed around. My favorites was the red pepper and feta and I also loved the peanut sauce which chicken was dipped into.

I also invited my old roommate (and new blogger) Kate. We all had a great time. It was nice to go out during the week and shake things up a bit. It was also fun to meet some other bloggers in Philly, I have a few new blogs to check out today!

We did get some sweet swag bags, which I will share with the blog in a separate post. Thanks so much to Carissa who told me about the Philly event. She went to the one in Boston last week. Check out her experience here. Thanks also to the awesome people at RedPlum for setting up the event. I had a blast!

But the night didn’t end there! Stay tuned!
