Fake Fires & Snow Tails

As I mentioned this morning, it has been super cold in Philadelphia this morning. So cold in fact that I crafted a ‘fire’ for fiancé and I to sit by with the hopes it would warm up the apartment. If you remember from our apartment tour, you will notice that we lack a real fireplace. I wish we had one so badly! I also wish we had a balcony, but that’s another story! So I dealt with our lack of fireplace by piling a bunch of tea lights together!

wicked 208 After fiancé spent almost a whole day dealing with all things wedding, we decided to kick back with a “snow-tail!” In our stockings for Christmas, my mom got us each a variety of nips to try out. Tonight we each busted out one. I had a raspberry vodka and ‘soda.’ I used my Sodastream Penguin to make some sparkling water for my drink. Fiancé had a whiskey on the rocks. A total man drink.

We relaxed by the ‘fire’ and watch a new episode of Big Love. It’s really amazing how a few tea light candles can really warm up a room!

It’s the poor man’s fire!

This afternoon the snow started to fall down. It’s been slowly coming down for a few  hours now.

Slowly starting to pile up!

I love snow. It’s so pretty. I love it even more when I don’t have to venture out in it! It’s more fun to enjoy when you can embrace it from the warmth of your apartment!

Fiancé and I have tentative plans to venture out somewhere to dinner that we can walk to! Stay tuned!

Enjoy your Saturday! Mine is turning into a very snowy one!

I'm like you, I wish we had a fire place as well. Alternatively at Christmas I found a candle called "fireside" at Bath and Body Works. It smells exactly like a crackling fire.

I just read your proposal story. It's so romantic. I hope you two had a fun time dealing with wedding stuff today. We really enjoyed planning our big day.
