Season It with Soup!

***Lasy call! My Drymax Socks Giveaway Ends Tomorrow!!***

So my Snow Dance worked! My class tomorrow is cancelled and as of right now I am off work! YAY! As of 7:21 pm snow has yet to hit Philadelphia, but I am sure that will all change in the near future. So I am looking at a beautiful day off tomorrow! I don’t want to jinx it, but I can’t wait to sleep in a bit and tackle my massive to-do list!

Here’s hoping tomorrow will be a beautifully productive day!

Anyways, when I got home today I had a few ideas for what I wanted to make for dinner. I have a fridge full of produce and I wanted a veggie filled meal, so I went to work pairing some stuff together.

I ended up with a bowl full or Brussels sprouts and chickpeas (seasoned with lemon, like the other day), some cauliflower, snap peas and onions. It was green and beautiful!

I also added some spinach and feta sausage from Applegate Farms

When fiancé came home I gave him a few options for seasoning and he picked what I was leaning towards -   the curried red lentil soup  which was sent to me from Pacific Foods. I have never seasoned or flavored a meal with soup before, so I didn’t know what to expect, but I had high hopes!

Snow 117

The soup as a flavoring was surprisingly fabulous! It gave the veggies a little flavor kick but it wasn’t overwhelming.

 Snow 118

The curried red lentil was just the right amount of spiciness. Fiancé just said it was a great “flavor infuser!” I love his little reviews. I can’t wait to try the soup just as soup!

Snow 119

I was going to add some pasta to this mix, but then decided against it. The meal was so much better with just the veggies, at least for me. Fiancé said he still missed the pasta a bit at first, but then he said the meal didn’t need a filler. WIN!

Snow 120

Have you ever seasoned a meal with soup?

Snow 121

I also enjoyed a lovely glass of red with my meal. It’s what we DO in Philadelphia when snow is coming – – we embrace the winter weather with alcohol!

Do you drink when it snows?

Snow 123

After my meal, in clear chocoholic fashion, I needed my chocolate fix. I grabbed a NibMor bar that was sent to me to try as well. I had my NibMor bar in the freezer, because my favorite way to eat chocolate is frozen!

It was great to pair my chocolate with my red wine! Do you like chocolate and wine together?

I tried the Dark Chocolate Almond flavor and I must admit that usually dark chocolate isn’t my favorite. I am making an effort to eat it more and try different types because I know its better for me.

Snow 131Snow 132

I love this bar! It’s organic, vegan and raw! It is also dairy, gluten and GMO free, all natural with no refined sugar. It also tasted amazing. The hint of almond was fabulous and the chocolate was full of good flavor, without being overly sugary tasting! It was yummy! I had a little square off the bar. Perfect size for filling my chocolate void!

Snow 111

I also loved the top of the bar packaging!

Snow 133

And the bottom! WIN!

 Snow 134

Do you have a favorite chocolate bar?

ASK ME ANYTHING!

Also, don’t forget that if you have any burning questions for me ASK ME ANYTHING! I am putting together a post with some of the questions asked so far, so let me know if there is anything you want to know about me!

Happy Snow Eve!

More Snow!

So I know this weekend we had crazy amounts of snow here in Philadelphia! Just shy of 30 inches! That’s a lot of snow! I know I got a little stir crazy this weekend from staying inside the whole time. I was also pissed because some fabulous dinner plans for Saturday night had to be cancelled as well. NO FUN!

But the word on the street is that we have another big snow storm coming our way tonight and tomorrow! A snow storm during the week is a WHOLE OTHER STORY for me. I would hope my classes would get cancelled and I wouldn’t have to go into work! It would be a glorious gift from mother nature. Maybe it would be her way for apologizing for ruining my dinner plans from last weekend. If so, I would accept her apology!

Here are some other pictures from last weekend’s big snow storm that I would like to share with the world as a “snow dance” of sorts!

Snow 011

Jackson and I had a good time frolicking in the snow.

 Snow 013

When the snow is still falling, that is prime time to go outside and play. Now that the snow has been sitting for a few days, its frozen and not as much fun to play in!

 Snow 014

Jackson still didn’t really know what to do with himself.

  Snow 027 Snow 030Snow 031

The snow almost went up to my knees! Crazy!

 Snow 034

Jackson was lucky he was able to walk on top of most of it.

Snow 035

I was a bad mommy and put him on top of a snow bank, and he quickly sank down a bit.

Snow 041

It was so cute to watch him sit there and not know where to go. The snow was so much bigger than him!

Snow 052

He loved playing in the snow! Jackson hopes we get more tonight too! Finger’s crossed!

Snow 053

I will however NOT welcome the snow if it’s snowing and the roads are bad and my classes DON’T get cancelled and/or if I still have to go into work. That will be a man down situation!

Do you have potential snow day plans? Is more snow coming your way? We are hearing in Philly that we are going to get another 6-12 inches on top of the snow we already have!

Don’t forget to enter for your chance to win some awesome running socks! Giveaway ends Wednesday!

Green with Envy

Good Morning! Another crazy Tuesday in store for me today- class, class, little break, lab! It’s pretty busy for me. I love starting my Tuesdays off with my morning Green Monster!

I have class starting at 8 am so this monster was made quite early this morning. My pictures were almost lacking sunlight. I attempted to pretty up the picture by putting my monster next to one of my plants. Pretty, right?

I made my normal monster today, nothing special added, I just kept it simple and fresh. It was delightful.

Ask Me Anything

I also jumped on the blogger bandwagon and signed up for the Ask Me Anything account which has been taking over the blog world.

I was initially holding back signing up for this because I figured if anyone had a question for me you could comment on my blog, or send me an email. But after seeing all the other questions all over the blogosphere, I guess there are a million questions people might want to ask anonymously.

So ASK ME ANYTHING by clicking here.

Ask Away! :)
