Meatballs and Marinara

I feel like I haven’t blogged about food on this blog lately. I need to fix that! Hopefully in the next few days you will see more exciting. inspiring healthy meals.

Tonight, a lazy rainy Tuesday in Philadelphia, I needed a quick and easy meal in my life. A little while ago I was sent some Bove’s frozen meatballs. I knew tonight was the perfect night to whip those out!

 April 009

I also received some awesome Lucini Tuscan Marinara with Roasted Garlic Sauce to test out as well. I knew I needed some fancy sauce to go with my fancy meatballs! Yum!

April 012

To go along with my meatballs and marinara I roasted up some veggies. Featured on this frying pan are some peppers, onions and so beautifully green asparagus.

 April 013

I put the meatballs on a bed of whole wheat pasta. Bove’s meatballs are all natural, oven baked and they are all handmade. They tasted really good. You can tell they are made with lots of love.

April 016

My plate. I ate about half the pasta, apparently I put way more on the plate then I can handle, but that works for me because I heart leftovers! Seriously, who doesn’t?

I love when I have time to make a home cooked meal. It makes my evening so much more enjoyable!

April 021

After my meatball photo shoot, I topped off my plate with some Lucini marinara. Lucini Italia does not add sugar, water, dehydrated herbs, or anything artificial. The sauce was awesome.

April 022

Do you have a favorite pasta sauce?

  April 024

What’s your favorite way to spice up the traditional spaghetti and meatballs?

As you can see, I love to try out new sauces. I think they make a big difference to any meal. I also love doing lots of veggies in the mix! The veggies complete the meal! Yum!

Pre-Cana Round 2

I figured since I posted about the first half of our Pre-Cana experience, I would just go ahead and finish my recap.

We had the first half of our Pre-Cana weekend on Saturday. It was very interesting and we heard from some amazing couples.

 IMG_8042

My favorite part about the weekend were these two books. Fiancé and I each had our own and after the topics we were addressing was discussed by the group and stories were shared by the couples leading the group, we were each asked 2 questions pertaining to the topics.

Then we did 10 in 10.

We were given 10 minutes to answer the questions and then we would meet up with our fiance and discuss what we wrote and let the other person read our answers. It was really interesting to write things down and discuss different aspects of our pending marriage that we might not have addressed otherwise.

I guess that’s the entire point of pre-cana, now isn’t it? Either way I enjoyed myself.

Like I said before, this past weekend was gorgeous.

After we had some good talks, we took pretty pictures outside.

I love the sunshine!

It was a long weekend, and by the last topic, we were both drained, but I felt we learned a lot and had fun!

We were given an official certificate saying we completed Pre-Cana together! Now I have to get this certificate in the mail to the priest!

Did you have a good Pre-Cana experience? What was yours like? I would love to hear what other couples went through! Let me know!

In other news, here is a close up of my 2nd place medal from the weekend! I love it so!

 IMG_8065

The front is kind of generic, but I love how they put this little engraved piece on the back. Now I just have to add the year, and possibly the date and I will be all set to add it to my ever growing race board!

I might need to put this medal someplace special. Any ideas?

After the race and pre-cana on Sunday fiancé and I did a little barbeque-action with our neighbors and some friends. I had my first veggie burger and it rocked my world.

It was from Morningstar and it was amazing. I am all about the veggie burger now. Have you had any other good veggie burger brands? I need to get myself a box!

Playing Ketchup

Hello everyone! I just wanted to do a quick little update post to get everyone up to speed on all the fun stuff that has been going down on And Her Little Dog Too!

Aside from my big announcement earlier today, Jackson had something exciting happen to him this weekend too. He was named the Inperspire mascot for the month of April!

He’s so honored. He assured me when he is famous one day he will remember the little people! Speaking of Inperspire…

**************Giveaway Winners***************

The winner of my Inperspire Giveaway are:

1- Steph from The Bright Side

2- Kelly from My Verbal Vomit

3- Julie from Savvy Eats

4- Grace from Grace, It’s Amazing

5- and reader Darlene

I bet you didn’t think there would be 5 winners, now did you? Congratulations ladies! Email me your towel of choice and where you would like it sent!

*************Another Giveaway Winner**************

I would like to formally congratulate the winner of my OpenSky Zensah Leg Sleeves Giveaway – Jessie from Vegan Minded. Congratulations Jessie!

Jessie gets her pick of Zensah Leg Sleeves from my shop. I love these things so much! I wear them whenever I run! They have changed the way I run and how my legs recover. I can’t say enough good things about them!

Don’t forget, everyone that entered should have received a 10% off coupon for anything in my OpenSky Shop. That coupon expires this Wednesday, so if there is anything you are interested in, use that coupon!

After my race this past weekend, I came home and rolled around on my foam roller. If you are a runner and don’t have one of these bad boys yet, you seriously need one in your life! It works wonders on my legs after a hardcore run! Check it out!

If you wanted to catch up on on this weekend’s happenings here are some posts to fill you in real quick –

1- Fiancé and I went to Pre-Cana this weekend. It was fun!

2- We also went on a wonderful walk through Villanova, our old stomping ground. I took some fun pictures in front of the chapel

3- I ran in the 1st Annual Cherry Blossom 5K  in Fairmount Park and got 2nd place! Woohoo!

4- Today I also announced that I will be a bridal blogger for Philadelphia Magazine! I am so excited for this opportunity!

In other news, I wanted to let everyone know that fiancé and I didn’t win the National Flaunt Your Rock competition. I really thought we had the best picture and I know so many of you out there votes for us, so I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I am a little upset because the contest was supposed to be about the picture of the ring and the couple that won didn’t have a good picture at all. But I can’t let myself be sad about it because fiancé and I won an awesome engagement session from the first round (which you all totally helped us win). We are currently planning that session and I am really looking forward to it. It’s going to be so fun!

I wanted to take a moment just to say thank you to everyone who supported us. Thanks to everyone who voted for us, posted about it on their blog, tweeted to spread the word…THANK YOU! Every little bit of your help made me feel so happy and supported. It is truly an amazing feeling to know there are people out there, most of who you have never even met, behind you 100%.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I love the blogworld. This is a truly amazing and special community. I feel blessed to be apart of it.
