Home is Where the Heart Is

I am a day late and a dollar short on these posts. I am having too much fun hanging out with my parents to keep up with posting this weekend, so bare with me. Friday morning was beyond beautiful here in Virginia. I enjoyed the beautiful morning outside on my parents back deck.

Jackson enjoyed himself out there too. April 308

He loves sitting outside in the sun, watching the world pass him by.  April 310

It’s a dog’s life. April 311

My mom sat outside on her deck chair. She and Jackson enjoyed some morning rays.

I wish we had a deck in our apartment, Jackson would sit out there all day and love life! April 316

Jackson loves him some sunshine. April 318

He also loves awesome walks, which he gets at home in Virginia with his grandma and grandpa. They spoil him to the MAX!

Today I am currently at BFF Michele’s Bridal Shower, but I will entertain you with what my mom and I did Friday in the mean time. We did some more shopping for the engagement party next weekend and we also had some bridal fun. My mom wanted to show me a “Mother of the Bride” dress she tried on and liked. While we were at the bridal salon a dress caught my eye  and I tried it on.

Did you read that?  I tried on my first potential wedding dress!

It was the first dress I tried on, and I really loved it. REALLY Loved it! Every other dress I try on from now on my compare to this bad boy. I want to try other things, because  want the whole experience, but I may have found my dress!

Obviously, it was another fabulous day with mommy! We celebrated the potential dress selection the only way we know how – with fro-yo!

People say we look alike – what do you think?

I’ll be back with a bridal shower recap! Stay tuned!

Cee Fine Thai Dining, Fairfax, VA

I am a big believer in trying new things. I love to try new places to eat and to try new things on different menus. My parents told me that they had a new place for us to try out for dinner:

Cee’s Fine Thai Dining

I have always been a fan of Thai food. My parents never wanted to try out any Thai restaurants with me in high school. Whenever we went out for family dinners I wanted Thai, but no one else did. When they suggested this Thai restaurant tonight I was very surprised and excited. Apparently they went here with some friends and loved it. I was hoping to love it too!

Cee’s is a cute little restaurant off Fairfax Boulevard. April 326

I loved all the detail as soon as I sat down. Check out these cute plates. I want them in my apartment! April 328

As soon as we sat down, we ordered drinks! I got a Pinot Noir, my dad got a Thai beer and my mom got a lychee martiniApril 330

Cheers to mama, papa and daughta!April 331

Say hello to my mom and dad blog world! I think this is their first official blog picture!   April 335

And here I am! Their favorite (only) daugther!

April 336

Cheers to a weekend at home with the ‘rents!

April 337

My mom and I were practicing out wedding smiles today. She told me that when you say “Prune” you naturally smile.

Here I am mid- “prune” – try it, it works! April 338

The happy family, minus brother and fiancé (and the dogs!) – ok we are missing many parts of our family, but this is dad with the girls!April 339

On to dinner! We started off with Paper Moons – which are crab filled won-tons! They were delish! April 341

Then we all split some chicken satay and jacketed shrimp.

April 342April 344

They we split Pad Himmapan – Sliced chicken sautéed stir fried with cashew nut, onion, bell pepper and carrot.

April 345

We also had the Panang – chicken cooked in panang curry paste with
coconut milk and basil leaves.

April 346

Both dishes were awesome, but they also were FIREY HOT! They were burning my face off! I love a spicy dish, but these were crazy hot. The food was awesome, but next time we come back I have to ask them to tone down my plates a tiny bit. I thought I could handle the spice, but I was wrong.

Can you handle spicy dishes?

April 347

For dessert we had my favorite Thai dish – mango and sticky rice. This stuff rocks my socks off.

Have you ever tried this dish?

I love me some Thai food! Yummers!
