Greetings from Virginia! I arrived here safe and sound yesterday afternoon. It was a quick and easy little drive from Philadelphia. Not too many people on the road on a Thursday afternoon, which was lovely.
After unpacking some things (I brought down my winter wardrobe to store at my parents house) and hanging out for a bit, my mom and I head out to do what we do best: SHOP!
Like I said before, I am down here this weekend for a friend’s bridal shower tomorrow, but I am also down here to get some things together for the engagement party my parents are throwing me next weekend down here. We had to run some errands for that and are starting to look at some things for my wedding. It’s always so much fun to come home and spend the day shopping and running errands with my mom!
While running around we decided we need some sustenance to keep us motivated. Enter: Fro-yo! I got this glorious creation in the mall. The sign stated it was only 100 calories, but with the mound of M&M’s on top, I am sure that information is a little skewed.
Yummy in my tummy! I have been on a ice-cream/frozen yogurt kick ever since it got warm out. So yummy!
My mom enjoyed hers too!
After our afternoon of frolicking around some stores and getting a few things we were hungry for dinner. We decided to check out Whole Foods hot bar! One of my favorite places ever!
I pretty much didn’t eat all day, so I was really hungry. Being hungry and being in front of all the glorious food there is not a good thing. I wanted everything! I ended up somehow controlling myself and getting a slice of white pizza (which rocked my world!) and a salad and then a little mixture of some other items I wanted to try.
There were so many yummy things to try, it was hard to pick!
What’s your favorite thing on the Whole Foods bar?
My salad was packed with awesomeness. Spinach, flax seeds, wheat berries, chickpeas, peppers, carrots, and lots of other things I can’t even remember!
It was a glorious dinner!

Sneak Peak Time: Here is a little sneak peak of the cupcakes we are going to be serving at the party next weekend. My mom’s friend is a baker and made me some samples to try. I decided on the cupcake filled with raspberry with grand Marnier. The color is going to be a little different, but isn’t she a beaut?
I am off to spend another fun filled day with my mom!
What are some of your favorite things to do with your family and friends when you come home after time away?

When I used to come home from college, one of the first things I always wanted to go was go to Olive Garden. Haha.
I LOVE cupcakes!!!
I store all my winter clothes at my parents house too!!
I love the cupcake, that will be a perfect ending to a glorious party! Enjoy more shopping with your mom!
I'm a huge cupcake fan! I always like to visit the little restaurants that are unique to central Pennsylvania.
I have never been to a Whole Foods. I think the husband and I need to make the trek to DC/NVA soon for a WF and Ikea fix.
have so much fun!
that yogurt looks delish! and okay, as does the cupcake. cupcakes are so cute.
