This has been another crazy week and I have lots of fun announcements coming up! There is lots (and lots!) to celebrate, so in honor of my big news and Mere’s new job, we went out to celebrate in Center City Philadelphia!
We decided to first hit up Marmont on Market Street for a drink and a bite. This was my first time here so I was excited to try it out!
I love being able to sit outside and enjoy a nice cold beer on a hot summer day! Nothing better!
I tried the local Walt Wit beer. It was delightful.
Mere enjoyed a cocktail too.
We also split some shoestring fries, which were delish!
I also enjoyed the Marmont Salad – which featured mixed greens, red delicious apples, toasted almonds, smoked Gruyere and honey poppy seed dressing. It was incredible.
Mere had the Ahi tuna salad.
After our little mini meal we headed over to enjoy the afternoon at the Continental Martini Bar on Market Street. This restaurant/bar is a staple to Philadelphia. There are two locations and the place is always packed with tons of people. It is known for fun food and amazing cocktails! It’s also got great atmosphere too!
I love the olive bar stools!
After making some big decisions regarding the drink menu, I decided to order my very first martini.
I have always been scared of ordering a martini before, I sort of thought they were too cool (and too strong!) for me. I ordered this bad boy dirty. It’s not so scary looking is it?
I felt so Sex & The City with my first martini!
Mere got one too!
After a while, Kevin (Mere’s hubby) joined us for drinks!
Aren’t they such a cute couple? Love them!
Then we got a few more appetizers for the table – Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps: bibb lettuce and spicy peanut dipping sauce
And the Cheesesteak Eggroll: crispy onions and sriracha ketchup. I had a few bites of each. They were yummy!
It was a lovely way to spend an afternoon celebrating lots of good news with friends!
Back to the martini – I really enjoyed it! It is a very different taste and I believe it can take some getting used to, but I really enjoyed it. It was strong, but good!
Do you like Martini’s?

Martini's scare me, too! Especially dirty martini's. One day I will be bad@$$ and try one, though. 🙂
I've never had a martini either. Guess I'll just have to try one next time I'm out!
I LOVE martinis. I started out with dirty ones but moved on to regular eventually. They are a rarity for me but I always enjoy them and look forward to them.
So wait, how was the martini? Did you like it? I've never tried one before. I think they'd be too strong but maybe I need to try it!
I do like martinis but I LOVE pomtinis. 🙂
I LOVE martinis, but only the good ones. I hate having a bad martini–one that tastes like alcohol. A good martini should taste fabulous, and be strong without the nasty taste. My favortie martinis are a key lime pie martini and an oatmeal cookie martini.
It looks like a fun evening! I would love that ahi tuna salad right now.
I've never had a martini. I'm glad that you liked it!
Nice- I went to the Continental for my sister-in-law's bachelorette party in Philly last year! We went to the roof deck bar and had their signature martinis- the Hawaii 5-0's! That place is cool 🙂 I've had sips of someone else's dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. It was actually really good, and I probably would order one, but there's always something else I want to try more!
martinis are so yummy!! I can't do the straight up kind like you did–I like the cosmo or other flavored ones. Such a girl…
I love the flavored (girly) martinis – the dirty one scares me. One martini, unfortunately, does me in – remember the cruise?
I've only ever had dessert martinis, not a real martini, let alone a dirty martini. The cheesesteak egg roll looks delicious!
