Since we are both Tri Virgins, we were both excited to check out the expo and the other racers!
The Expo was held at Lloyd Hall along Boathouse Row, which is right next to where fiancé and I got engaged! It was a nice space for the expo, but parking was hard to find!
After we got our race packets, Kate and I decided to sit in on an Informational Meeting about the race tomorrow. Since this is our first time doing a Tri, we wanted to make sure we knew what to expect when we get to the start line tomorrow!
It was a great little pep talk and we both felt more comfortable about the race and the transitions.
While we listened to the talk I snacked on a free sample of Oikos yogurt in caramel. It was glorious.
I also got Oikos lip balm! I hope it tastes like yogurt! Ha!
The Expo was fun to walk around at, as they always were. There were lots of fun vendors and I bought some fun stuff! (See below)
When I got home I was pumped to rip open my race packet and check everything out.
I got my swim cap – I am in the yellow wave. I also got my numbers for the bike, the double sided number goes across the middle bar of my bike and the little number goes on my helmet. The bottom blue number is for the running portion.
This bad boy is my chip timing device. Ow Ow!
Here is all my loot.
I am really excited about the race shirt we got! It’s so cute!
I also treated myself to some goodies while at the expo to an awesome long sleeved shirt and a Headsweats hat.
I love the yellow color and the fun logo!
After playing with all my new toys and treats from the expo, I decided to lay everything out for tomorrow.
Did you know Jackson is about the same size as my helmet?
Here is all my stuff for tomorrow! That’s a lot of stuff! Swimming, Biking and Running all in a row calls for lots of gear!
As of now I have everything set up and ready to go. I am getting a little excited but also a little nervous for the race tomorrow. I have done lots of race, but since this if my first Tri I am still a little unsure about what to expect.
I decided to fuel up this evening with my favorite pre-race dinner –> Whole Wheat and Honey Pizza!
I am off to get a good nights sleep and mentally prepare for my first Triathlon in the morning!
Wish me luck!
