For dinner tonight I made some soup. It’s a little rainy and chilly in Philly this evening, so I figured it was the perfect weather for some hearty soup!

Have you ever had this soup?

This is the first time I have had one of the soups from Bob’s Red Mill. I saw it in the aisle in the store and it looked nutritious, delicious and easy to make! Win!

Beans are high in fiber, rich in protein, low in fat and contain no cholesterol. Beans are good!

This particular bean soup contained – Navy, Black, Red, Pinto, Baby Limas, Large Limas, Garbanzo, Great Northern, Kidney Beans, Black-Eyed, Yellow Split, Green Split Peas and Lentils! Oh My!

The soup mix was pretty self explanatory. First, I rinsed the beans.

Have I told you lately that I love my SLR camera. I specifically love my new lens that fiancé got me for my birthday. Swoon!

After a little rinse, I let the beans soak in my Cali Bowl for a few hours to soften up.

After their soak, I drained them, covered them with water and simmered them until they were tender and mushy.

And then there was soup!

I added a little crunch to my soup by throwing in a few of Mary’s Gone Crackers.

I enjoyed the soup, I just wish there was a little more color to this dish, the beans were so much prettier before they were cooked!

It was a delightful meal on a rainy evening.

I am an equal opportunity bean lover.

I have this soup in my pantry and have yet to try it. Such a shame you don't see the individual beans in the end.

I saw that soup at the store the other day and highly considered buying some. Now I'm considering it even more.

I had no idea those little beans could look like that?! I love it. I am on a huge Trader Joe's Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Soup kick right now.

Did fiance love the soup? Your right, what happened to all the colors, I guess those dark beans took over the color. It looked delish though! Loved the crackers, I'm all about crunchy crackers too.
