Yesterday I was invited to Mango Moon in Manayunk for the launch party of the EcoArts Festival this weekend.
This "green carpet event" was hosted by Manayunk Development Corporation, Green Drinks Philly and Nicole Miller Philadelphia.
I was excited to check out this party because I have driven by this restaurant a number of times and had always been curious about checking it out.
It is two levels on Main Street in Manayunk and I loved the decor inside, especially these lights!
I also enjoyed this writing on the wall. No idea what it says but it was all written in cork! Pretty cool!
These jars kind of look like mine, don’t you think?
The party was being held on the second floor, so we went up top and were greeted by a jazz band.
We were also greeted by some wonderful appetizers!
Some of the menu items we got to try were crab wontons, fried taro root and rice crackers with Thai salsa (made with vegetables from Chef Moon’s garden and the local co-op).
Fiancé and I each tried a specialty created drink.
Our two drinks included The Green Lantern which was Gin infused with guava flavored candy, topped off with fresh lime and sprite and the – Steep Party which was Penn 1681 (Philadelphia Distilling) vodka infused with Hibiscus and citrus lemongrass tea leaves (from Mug Shots), finished with lemon
I loved the Steep Party, but both drinks were good!
Side Note – Are you a flash or non-flash photographer in restaurants? These pictures make me look so different, especially my hair color! Ha!
In other news, check out my pretty shoes.
Since I showed you my pretty orange heels last time, I would show you what shoes I wore this time! I love these bad boys!
Also, check out my hot date! Sipping on gin and juice! Ow Ow!
It was cool to come to this event and kick off the festival this weekend. I am not sure I am going to make it over to the EcoArts because my schedule is pretty packed, but it looks like it is going to be a lot of fun!
I have to come back to Mango Moon for dinner soon! Any readers ever been here before?
Any Philly friends heading out to Manayunk for the festival this weekend?
