Rock & Roll Philly Half Marathon Expo

Today was a fun filled Friday for me! I had a beautiful lunch with the lovely Lauren at at place I have never been to before – The Belgian Cafe – Any Philly readers ever been?

For lunch I had the special – a grilled veggie pita with steak fries.

It was filled with lots of good stuff, I have been craving veggies like crazy. The only thing was that there were like 5 fries that came with the meal. I was a little sad there wasn’t more!

Lauren got a salad and a side of pom frites!

We both had our bikes with us today and biked all around the city. I think I did about 13 miles which was a nice little workout.

After lunch we had plans to head to the ING Rock & Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon Expo.

I was excited to be able to go Friday afternoon because I know its going to be a mad house tomorrow!

We checked in and were greeted with a fog machine upon entering the expo. They were really putting the rock star vibe out today!

I got my race bib – Corral #7 !

And then we decided to check out the expo.

I love that Brooks had Port O Potties as fitting rooms!

Lauren and I were clearly ready to get our Rock & Roll on!

This is my first Rock & Roll series race. Anyone else ever run one before? What are your thoughts?

Being an expo – and a pretty big one at that! – there were tons of samples being given away, and I tried them all!

Yes they were giving out mini beer samples! Cheers! The MGD 64 calorie beer wasn’t too shabby, surprisingly.

Lauren and I got our alignment checked. I have perfect alignment according to the checker there, I am happy to report! Woohoo!

I also test drove these Brooks Ghost sneakers. I really liked them and am in need of a new pair before my Marathons coming up.

I love doing big races because they are very organized (most of the time) and the swag bags are awesome! Check out all the awesome stuff we got in our race bags!

I purchased the shot bloks but everything else was free!

Lots of yummy samples in here – coupons too!

I also really enjoy the nice bright color of the shirt. And the logo is pretty fun too!

    Fun!

I ran RNR Chicago in August and it was super fun, but our swag bags weren't as nice as yours. I'm jealous! Good luck!

AHH I'm so jealous – I did not get Larabars in my swag bag! The expo was a total ghost town when I swung by around 1:15 – I wish I could have stayed to check all the booths out, but i only had time to run in and out.
