This past weekend I participated in a fun Foodbuzz 24×24 event held at Sabrina’s house. I was invited over for a fun afternoon sweets party with some of my Philly blogger friends, and with Sabrina being the amazing hostess she is, I expected nothing less than an incredibly cute, fun party – which is exactly what we got.
In true Sabrina fashion, her apartment was decorated perfectly for the event – both seasonally and beautifully.
Sabrina was hosting this Sweets Party to remind what it’s like to be a child, in honor of the Save the Children’s program which puts forth efforts to ensure kids have access to healthy foods during the holiday season and throughout the year.
At this party we were told to expect lots of fun sweet treats and a fun activity. I was excited to see what Sabrina had in store.
In the amazing spread there was fruit and tea
and ice cream
with some fabulous toppings
along with some Carmel candies
My little plate was waiting to be FILLED with all the glorious sweet treats that were in front of me
In true food blogger fashion, before sitting down to enjoy our meal we had a mini photo shoot of the table setting!
As we sat down, Sabrina, our lovely hostess with the mostess explained to us all the treats before us
The idea of the party was to help us, as adults, release our inner child and let loose for an afternoon – and what kid doesn’t love a sweets party?
I haven’t been a kid for a while, but I still love my sweets!
On the table we were greeted with lots of different types of cupcakes from Pamcakes – all different flavors and colors!
Pumpkin, Vanilla with Strawberry Buttercream and Chocolate Chip with Vanilla Filling! How can I choose?! They all sounded so good!
I filled my plate with a chocolate chip cupcake, which blew my mind, some pumpkin ice cream with sprinkles (because pumpkin ice cream is one of my favorite fall things!) and some fruit for good measure.
This cupcake was incredible.
And then I went back for a second half of a cupcake – how can I not try a pumpkin cupcake? It was divine!
After our sweet snacking was done, we were all on a bit of a sugar high , which was good because it was time for our activity.
Can you guess what we were going to do with these two items?
Any guesses now?
Well first we sliced the top off our orange
Then we took out the guts of the orange with spoons, much like you would do when carving a pumpkin!
Then when the inside was all cleaned out we made
Little Orange O Lanterns!
I went for the classic look for my orange. You can’t go wrong with a scary face…even though mine looks a little more like he is possible laughing at me than being scary!
Ok, he’s a happy Jack O Pumpkin!
He also made some scary friends – Melissa and Christine’s pumpkins came to hang out.
Obviously, after our pumpkin orange creations, another photo shoot took place!
These guys are complete with cinnamon sticks on top.
I was proud of my little Orange O Lantern. This was such a fun activity with much less of a mess than carving a pumpkin.
Here is our lovely group being kids with our orange creations.
Role Call:
Top L-R > Lisa, Melissa and Lauren
Bottom L -R> Chrissey, Sabrina and Me
All our pumpkins turned out great and we had a blast.
Thanks for an awesome afternoon Sabrina!
What;s your favorite Fall memory of being a kid? What makes you feel like a kid as an adult?

SO CUTE!!! I thought the set-up was great, I had no idea the pumpkins were coming. WOW, that is a great idea.
I love carving pumpkins, classic fave.
The party sounds like a lot of fun! How cute.
What a cute idea for a party. I'm a child at heart and just wanted to serve desserts for my wedding. Sadly, that idea got shot down by my husband and everyone else. It's my goal in life to one day have a dessert party 😉
Fabulous idea, I never thought of making a little jack o lantern with an orange. That's my kind of party, I love sugar! Kudos to Sabrina for hosting such a fun afternoon and so pretty too!
Everything looks so fresh and adorable! Love the orange jack-o-lanterns!
Those jack'o'lantern oranges are just too cute of an idea! Plus, I am jealous that you got to spend time with such a fun group of bloggers (especially since it was on Foodbuzz's bill!)
Those Pamcakes are incredible! We use them all the time.
Thanks so much for involving Pamcakes in your blog and party! It looked like so much fun!! 🙂
