Today was an exciting day for me– I got to meet a fellow blogger whose blog I have been reading for a while – she just came out with a new book!
Any other Bakerella fans out there?
I have been reading Bakerella’s blog for a while now and I am so in love with her Cake Pops and Cupcake Pops. They are too stinkin’ cute!
As soon as the book tour schedule went up, I put it right on my calendar! I was so excited to meet the lovely woman behind the blog (and the Pops!)
I got to the mall about 2 hours early because I had a few errands to run (Aka I had to check out the Nordstrom’s Half Yearly Sale) and I am glad I got there early because there was a big line waiting to get into the store for the signing.
I took a seat against the wall and began checking out my new book.
So many glorious creations!
How cute are the Cake Pops and Balls? I can’t wait to make them!
Umm…these might be necessary in the coming months!
Before I knew it, we were heading inside the store for a Bakerella demo!
Dear Bakerella, Can you please make my wedding cake?
Bakerella ( aka Angie Dudley) came out and did a little Q&A with the fans. She talked about how to make her pops and gave people some problem solving advise. She has an adorable southern accent! So cute!
She also told us about some of her favorite props for making the pops which will come in handy when I venture down the pop making road!
We also learned a bit about how her book came to be. She was just blogging her pops online and it had been her dream to write a book when a publisher approached her. Sounds very familiar to what is happening to lots of bloggers in the community lately! So exciting!
After the demo we got back in line with our books to get them signed.
While waiting in line we were each given a cake pop! Yay!
After a few minutes it was my turn to meet Bakerella! I told her I loved her blog and her pops were adorable. I also told her about my blog. It was fun to meet a big blogger like her in real life.
Did I mention I love this cake?!
It wasn’t long after I left the store that I had to break into my Cake Pop. I wanted to save it, but I knew if I did I would break it and I wanted to enjoy it.
Chocolate covered Cake Pop a la Bakerella herself? Yes, Please!
OH. MY GOD.
It was amazing. The perfect bite sized treat. The cake inside was so moist and the chocolate on the outside was decadently delicious!
Also, check out how Bakerella signed my book? Yay!
After meeting the lady of the hour we were given some fun buttons.
Bakerella buttons! I love them!
Aside from the book purchase, I also picked up these little decorative cutters.
The word on the street is Bakerella uses this cutter for the Cupcake Pops.
Clearly I needed it in my life!
I got lots of other fun shapes in this little tin.
All in all it was a fun filled afternoon.
Have you ever made Cake Pops? What do you think of them?

Yes!!!!! I've been making cake pops all the time (and I love bakerella too! I missed her signing in California because I had to work!
Fun!! I love the Bakerella's cake pops. How cool that you got to meet her. I'm in awe of bloggers (you!!) so I understand how you felt. Fun!! Show us your creations when try out your cake pop cookbook!
I love Bakerella! I've made the cake balls before, but I can not get them to look as pretty as hers!
I make them all the time, they are delish and impress everyone. The cake pops are easiest to make. The key to making them with the full can of frosting – re: livingoneday – is to FREEZE the balls before rolling in chocolate. They coat much better and don't crumble or end up too wet. You can also buy the chocolate molds to make the mini cupcakes, easy and cute!
Oh I want that book now!! I have to go research more. Thanks for sharing this!
Those cake pops are to die for! The bride and groom are too cute, boy, I might have to borrow that book!
What fun!
