Yesterday I joined Melissa and Lauren at the expo for the Philadelphia Marathon. It was fun to go with my running buddies to pick up their bibs, but I was very sad that I wasn’t running myself.
As my good friend Beck recently said to me: “Going to an expo I am not running in is like taking candy from a baby.”
I was disappointed that the marathon was sold out because in all honesty, I probably would have run it if I could (yes, I know that statement might make me officially a crazy marathon addict). I had such an amazing experience in New York a few weeks ago and the marathon route for the Philadelphia race literally goes right by my front door.
I spent so much money travelling to Chicago and New York for the marathons last month, its kind of a no brainer to do the one in your hometown – but I didn’t know how I would feel about running Chicago and New York back to back, so it was smart to hold off. But all this talk and buzz about everyone running tomorrow makes me jealous!
Either way, I’m planning on running next year!
After getting our expo on, the three of us decided to go to lunch. We decided to head on over to Farmicia.
Lucky for us Farmicia offers a lunchtime happy hour from Tuesday – Friday which means all the drinks are half off!
I enjoyed a Transfusion which is grape juice, sparkling water and vodka. It was amazing. All the drinks at Farmicia are so good!
Cheers to ladies who lunch!
I was happy my running buddies were able to join me for a happy hour lunchtime drink!
I am also always happy to enjoy lunch with blogger buddies because it doesn’t phase anyone when we all bust out our cameras for a photo shoot of each course of the meal!
After we got our drinks we enjoyed some lovely fresh bread.
The girls were carbo-loading for their race but I was just joining in on the carbo-loading pre-race fun! When in Rome, right?
For lunch I got the chicken enchiladas per the waiters suggestion. It was deliciously amazing and good to the last bite.
Nom Nom Nom.
Eating with blends (blog friends). There truly is no better way to dine! 🙂
Good luck to all those running the Philadelphia Marathon in the morning! I will be at the Falls Bridge area cheering runners on!
Are you racing this weekend?

i like being ladies who run, lunch and drink!
I never thought of going to a race expo when you aren't running the race! Such a great idea. I may not be willing to take candy from a baby but I am definitely willing to take free stuff from a big expo!
I'm running! But the half so I won't be crossing the Falls bridge. Have fun!
Yum, that looks like a delish, fun lunch!
Really happy to see you got to get your carbo-load on too 😉 that bread looked wonderful!
I bet you were sad not to run! We'll plan on cheering you on next year if you decide to run in your Hometown!
