My New Bib Board

Since I made some recent adjustments to my race board,

(Have you entered my Allied Running Medal Hangers Giveaway yet?)

I had some changes to make to the actual board. I had all these fun bibs and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it without the medals hanging on there. I thought it might look a little empty, but boy was I wrong! I played around with the format a bit & decided to make an inspiration board out of all my race bibs.

On my board I have all my bibs in the background and on top I have lots of fun race and running related pictures. They remind me of awesome runs/races I have had and fun times with running buddies!

That picture of me running through Times Square during the New York Half Marathon was nothing short of an amazing moment for me! I have it as the center/focal point of the bib board.

I also have up some motivational notes from friends – one of which sent me a note with marathon motivational question (Hi Scott!). This note card reads”

Welcome to the Marathon Club. Less than 1% of people accomplish this in their life.

“It hurts up to a point then it doesn’t get any worse”

“To describe the agony of a marathon to someone who’s never ran one is like trying to explain color to a blind person.”

I also have some great stickers from some of my favorite running companies in various places around the board.

I put my blank race bibs on the bottom. They aren’t as pretty and are mostly from smaller races, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t just as important as the others. #79 in the corner is from when I won 2nd place in a race! That race bib isn’t going anywhere! It’s very special to me!

I guess as I get more race bibs I will just pile them on top of the other ones and keep the important ones, like first marathons and half marathons (and pretty ones), up front!

What do you do with your race bibs?

I know people that put them on the back of closet doors and others who keep them together on a hook. I want to know what the rest of the world does with all their race bibs! Tell me! 🙂

I really like your board! And that Times Square pic is awesome!

I have mine plastered all over my closet wall 😉 There is a ton more now than in that pic! I need to repost about it 🙂

we don't have a ton yet, but I use them as the background for a collage for each race, then I put them into a poster frame to display.

Very cool board! Sadly mine are jammed in an envelope. And my medals are jammed in a box. Need to work on that.

I put them on a cork board hanging on the wall. But I only have 2, so it's not quite full…

I think you should get a GINORMOUS cork board, say about the size of a wall, and start pinning your race bibs there, proudly displayed with the Times Square Photo in the center, that is so awesome. I wished you had an awesome photo from the Chicago or New York marathons that was as cool as that one. Also, you need to get a 26.2 sticker for your car, I saw someone the other day with one on their car and knew immediately they were a Marathoner! You might need a second bedroom just for your race stuff!

I have my bibs "scrapbooked" along with photos from each race. It definitely isn't fancy dancy scrapbooking, but I have all bibs and photos from 08 and 09 in the book. I'll be adding the '10 bibs shortly.

I am new to your blog! I was wondering what you do with your old race t-shirts. I just them in a container in my basement. Any ideas, besides the blanket? Enjoy your day!

I guess I'm not that sentimental because mine go in the trash 😉
