Philadelphia Marathon Superfan

This morning fiancé, Jackson and I headed down to Kelly Drive to cheer on everyone running the Philadelphia Marathon. The marathon route went right past our front door so it was super easy to head on down there and cheer.

It was a beautiful morning for a marathon! Jackson and I were ready to cheer on the runners!

We parked ourselves right in between mile 17 which is where the runners head over Falls Bridge and mile 22 where the runners were heading back from Manayunk towards Center City. It was a good spot and we got to cheer on people from both sides!

We even met up with Sabrina who was there cheering on her Husband, who was running his first marathon, along with other friends.

I was there waiting for Melissa to pass by me because I had her coconut water drink that she wanted.

I even saw a few readers pass by at this point in the race! I guess they noticed my little dog too on my arm! Way to go readers!

Sabrina and I were giving 110% cheering for everyone passing by!

I know how important it is those last few miles when everything starts to hurt to have people cheer your name and tell you that you are almost finished!

Jackson helped cheer too. People passing by him and were loving him!

After a while Jackson did start to get tired.

Being a spectator is hard work!

We waited about 45 minutes or so in our little spot waiting to see Melissa. As usual, the race tracking system was acting crazy so no one really know when to expect the runners!

Jackson and I kept cheering our little hearts out!

For this race, I was rockin’ the Superfan shirts!

Good thing the ‘Fiancé’ part is interchangeable!

And then we saw Sabrina’s husband come passing us by!

Sabrina ran with him a few steps to check in on how he was feeling and he kept on hustling towards the finish line!

After he passed by we knew Melissa wasn’t far behind.

Did I mention being a marathon spectator is hard work? You have to really be on your toes at all times!

Luckily, it was made a little easier with a cute puppy in my arms.

In this picture, Jackson looks like he is saying “Come on mom, you are embarrassing me!” Haha!

And then before we knew it, Melissa was passing by us! She was looking awesome! Only 4 more miles to go girl! Woohoo!

By the time we saw Melissa, we had been outside for an hour and Jackson was starting to seriously shiver!

Fiancé was in charge of keeping the little guy warm.

It was fun hanging out at Mile 22 for part of the morning. This is when the race really starts to get tough so a good cheer section is important!

After getting our cheer on, it was time to head home and take the little puppy inside to warm up.

Congratulations to all the Philadelphia Marathon and Half Marathon runners/finishers! Awesome job!

Shout outs to Melissa and Trig for running their first marathons! Shout to Gabriela, Lauren, Noodles, Kelly, Chrissy, Jess, Stephanie for running the half marathon and rocking it!

Who else ran the race today? How did everyone do??

Where was Jackson's cute sweaters/coats to keep that little guy warm? Can you now appreciate being a spectator and how your family followed you around your two marathons? Kudos to your friends Melissa and Sabrina's hubby!
