After we boarded the ship last Sunday, fiancé and I had a bumpy day at sea on Monday. It was rough but we made the best of it. We were supposed to dock at Grand Cayman Island on Tuesday, but since the weather was still questionable we were unable to tender into port. This was disappointing but we enjoyed another day at sea and waited to stop in Cozumel.
Since we missed our stop in Grand Cayman, we ended up getting into Cozumel early and enjoyed a long and full day there! The day started out a bit overcast, but then got sunny as the day went on.
Back to our trip – we enjoyed walking around the streets, checking out the different shops and taking in the scenery.
I looked upon this beach and reminded myself that it was 20 degrees in Philadelphia that day. It made the experience way better!
The sky was a bit ominous, but other than that it was a beautiful morning.
On our way out walking around we got some good views of our ship in port.
I wanted to play in the sand!
It was lovely to put my feet in the ocean and feel the sand between my toes.
Fiancé and I had a little photo shoot by the water.
After frolicking on the shoreline for a bit we took a walk further into town.
I love window shopping in new places. So fun!
I also enjoy spotting coconuts in palm trees! So tropical! Makes me feel even more like I am on vacation.
Then we took short walk through the town hall area
I enjoyed watching the pups around the island.
It is a dog’s life after all, isn’t it?
Before I knew it, it was lunchtime – and I was craving Mexican! 🙂
We picked a little spot in an open aired restaurant with a view.
Authentic Mexican chips and salsa? Ole!
With a side of beer. It was vacation after all! 🙂
For lunch, fiancé and I weren’t too hungry, so we decided on splitting chicken enchiladas. They were awesome.
Followed by a second round of beers. We wanted to try all the local favorites.
Cheers to vacation!
After lunch the sky was clear so we took some pictures of our ship.
Mexican McDonald’s anyone?
Fiancé got a kick out of the McRib sign.
Then we continued our way down the road and ended up in Margaritaville.
And what else is there to do in Margaritaville but order some margaritas?
It was fabulous to sit by the water, enjoy a drink and embrace the sunshine.
Margaritaville was pretty cool. They had a spot where you could lay out along the water and they gave out snorkeling equipment anyone could use for free. It would have been a great place to spend the day!
We had a great time enjoying the town of Cozumel, but Fiancé and I decided to make our way back towards the ship.
But we got a little distracted on our way back.
Anyone ever heard of Senor Frogs or Carlos & Charlies? I couldn’t leave without fiancé experiencing it for himself.
I mean they serve popcorn in dog bowls! What’s not to love! 🙂
I enjoyed our balloon hats.
After that pit stop we headed back to the boat.
Fiancé and I had a fun filled shore excursion planned!
So far our time in Cozumel had been awesome.
But it was about to get even better!
Stay tuned! 🙂

so funny! I told you how when we were there a couple weeks ago in cozumel on the Disney magic we were docked next to the dawn, and looks like you were next to the magic again!
Beautiful pictures! The blue water and sunshine look so peaceful — would love to be there right now 🙂
Where your shipped docked was right across the street from the resort we stayed at on our honeymoon. If you ever go back, you have to go snorkling. It's the best!
shame you couldnt stop in cayman! my boyfriend and i went snorkeling on a sunken ship last year on the island. your photos make me miss our cruise! we took a taxi to some local beach in cozumel and enjoyed the beautiful day with beers, jet skiing, kayaking, and swimming. cant wait to hear what you had planned!!
WOW, brings back so many good memories, especially the Carlos and Charlies photos! Looks like you and fiance thoroughly enjoyed your time in Cozumel, loved the photos! Is finance hooked on cruising?
