I want to thank Leslie for letting me guest post about my honeymoon while she’s currently in the process of planning hers — I got married in 2006 and didn’t have a blog at the time, so I’ve never been able to share my adventure!
My honeymoon was also a healthy turning point for me because after I returned, I decided that as a married woman, I wanted to get healthy so I could truly enjoy my new life. You can read more about my blog, Healthy Living in a Hectic World, at KatyWidrick.com.
My wedding was one of the best days of my life…
And getting the HECK out of town. Lucky for me, I had the honeymoon of my dreams waiting for me…starting with a first class flight from Orlando, Florida to London, England.
I’d love to tell you that I made lots of healthy choices during the 2 weeks abroad, but between my decision to wear high heels while walking across the city (gotta look cute in pictures!):
To embracing ice cream, crepes and cappuccinos as a food group once we headed to Paris:
I indulged at every turn and did *not* do my body any favors. Sure, we did plenty of sightseeing…
But we also did plenty of drinking. And eating.
And laughing. And loving.
My honeymoon was everything I hoped it would be. It was the perfect respite from a stressful year of planning our wedding. It was a chance for my new husband and I to see two of the most romantic cities at the most romantic time in our lives. And it was an incredible opportunity to put the rules of healthy living aside and just enjoy everything that came our way.
How did you spend your honeymoon? Or if you aren’t married, what would the honeymoon of your dreams look like?
