I started off the first day of December last night with a lovely trip to what is quickly becoming my favorite studio for hot yoga. Yesterday I purchased another 10 class card for $39 on Groupon! Woohoo! Another good deal day. I am going to join in on all the December yoga challenge fun and attempt to do 25 days of yoga this month!
In honor of my yoga month – here are a few reasons as to why I love hot yoga:
I love the feel of walking into the studio and laying down on the mat for a few minutes before class. With the hot air circling around me, I picture myself laying on a beach on an island somewhere. It’s a glorious escape.
I love when we start to flow and the room heats up and I begin to sweat like I have never sweat before.
I love it when the sweat drips off my body onto my mat and I can feel my body heating up from the inside out.
I love challenging myself with new positions and taking things to the next level with my practice. I love the fact that with yoga the only competition is with yourself and for me, that is my motivation to push further.
I love using my Yogitoes mat on top of my yoga mat.
It is soft and comfortable and keeps me from slipping off my mat.
Another great holiday gift for any aspiring yogini!
Any other Yogitioes fans out there?
I love walking out of a hot yoga class into a cold winter night. It cools me down immediately and I have a new appreciation for the fresh chilly air. I love wrapping myself up in warm clothes on my way out the door.
I love walking in the door of my apartment and running in the bathroom to do a little photo shoot of the sweaty beast I have become!
Seriously, with all my running and the two marathons under my belt I swear I have never sweat in any race than I do with hot yoga. It’s amazing!
Most importantly, I love the feeling of finishing a hot yoga class and feeling cleansed. I end the class feeling like all the I have sweat all the negative energy out of my body and replenished it with happy vibes!
I love the yoga endorphins after an awesome class!
Those are just a few of the many reasons as to why I love hot yoga and why I have been practicing a lot lately. It makes me happy! 🙂
Why do you love yoga or hot yoga? What does yoga do for you?

When I lived in Philly, I used to go over to University City and go to Power Yoga Works for HOT yoga. http://www.poweryogaworks.com. If you found something closer to you and more conveneient, yeah!
You are right…there is a ton of cleansing going on with all that sweating. It feels great, doesn't it. You leave the class feeling lighter!
I am currently looking for a hot yoga studio here in Arlington, Va. I think this is a great transition from all that running you did this summer!
Leslie,
I'm wondering where you've been going in the city. I live in Philly and belong to a fabulous studio that I'm not sure if you've discovered yet! Let me know.
I have been going to Dana Hot Yoga because that's where I got my Groupon and Living Social deals. I am open to other suggestions! Let me know! 🙂
Makes me think of "some like it hot." I didn't think it'd be possible to sweat more than when I spin, clearly you have me beat.
I took my first hot yoga class a few weeks ago and LOVED it. I can't wait to go again—for all the reasons you just listed!
It makes me feel soooooo good. And it relaxes me. I sleep like a BABY after doing hot yoga. You just feel clean. I just wish I liked the actual class as much as the feeling afterwards…
I love yoga because it's improved my flexibility, asthma, strength, and most importantly my well being! I was always afraid to try hot yoga though for some reason. Afraid I'll pass out or something lol. I'll have to give it a try!
I bought that Groupon too! I am excited and scared to tr hot yoga for the first time!
I really need to try this HOT yoga business. I've never heard anyone say they don't like it 🙂
Wow, you sure did sweat! I bet the heat does feel amazing and good for your joints too! Maybe I sure try it!
