Acropolis Yoga

Another day in Athens to share with you! Actually, this is a continuation of my Acropolis view post, just from a slightly different angle!

After Charles and I hit up the beautiful Acropolis Museum, it was time for an afternoon snack!

By snack I mean afternoon beverage! Charles enjoyed a beer.

And I had my newest obsession – a Cafe Fredo – which is kind of like an iced coffee, but WAY more amazing.

Seriously, best drink ever.

What could be better than an afternoon pit stop in a lovely cafe just below the Acropolis?!

honeymoon 1875

I would love to sit here all day long. Seriously.

After enjoying some time in the cafe, we set out to take on Athens again – Charles had his trusty map to guide us!

It was pretty easy to be aware of where we were at all times because the Acropolis was always in view one way or another!

Obviously, after seeing all the amazing ruins in the morning, Charles wanted to see other ruins below the Acropolis! It started to get hot in the afternoon, so he had to do a little costume change – from pants to shorts! Ow Ow!

We started off checking out the Roman Agora.

Charles was a tad more pumped about this than me!

Stuff like this just doesn’t excite me.

But obviously I made the experience an interesting one.

Jumping shots make rocks in a field way more awesome!

After checking out the rocks it was my turn to pick what we did next – and I wanted to see the Flea Market and do some shopping!

honeymoon 1960

It was fun to walk around and make some fun purchases, but wherever we were, an old building or ruins were right around the corner!

After hanging out with the ruins for the rest of the afternoon, it was time to stop for lunch! I made it my goal to test out the local wine at every cafe we stopped at – this time was no different.

Lots of laughs were had with lunch.

honeymoon 1981

What was not to giggle about – we had experienced a lovely day and enjoyed a fabulous view!

After our break we headed back towards the Acropolis to check it out from a different angle.

The word on the street was that there was a big rock formation with a great view overlooking Athens as well as the Acropolis.

We had to check it out for ourselves – the rumors were true!

It was a perfect day in Athens for great views of the city – we could see for miles!

The place was packed with people, just hanging out, enjoying the amazing sights.

I was feeling a little Acropolis Yoga, so I just went for it.

Balancing on the rocks is WAY harder than you think!

Charles even tried a few poses.

He is a natural!

Random Fact– Did you know that Athens has oranges popping out of trees all over the city?

honeymoon 2113

We picked them straight off the tree for freshly squeezed OJ in the morning at our hotel! A city after my own heart!

Another day in Athens has come to an end!

Good thing it was filled with lots of – Honeymoon & Acropolis Love.

I think that rock is called Ares Rock, after the Greek God of War. I remember sitting on it when I was in Athens 3 years ago!

You take the cutest jumping pictures. I’d be afraid I’d crack my head open, especially on those rocks!

Those views of the city are amazing! I can’t believe how clear the sky is and how far out you could see! so cool!
