So far on our cruise of the Greek Isles we have seen Mykonos and Ephesus – next stop on the tour is Patmos!
On our way to our next Greek Isle, we past some great scenery as we sunned ourselves on the top deck of the ship.
And before we knew it – we had arrived in Patmos – which is a small Greek Island on the Aegean Sea.
We tendered to shore and enjoyed the view along the way.
This island was much different from others I had seen. Very low key, if that makes sense.
Not too much going on in Patmos, at least from afar.
The main highlight of Patmos is Monastery of Saint John the Theologian and the Cave of the Apocalypse which is where St. John had the visions that he recorded in the Book of Revelations.
Charles and I enjoyed the historic location on top of the hill from afar. We just wanted to stroll around the island and hang out on the beach for the day.
I love all the white houses along the blue sea.
It was a beautiful day to soak up the sun!
A quick hop off the tender and a short stroll from the docks we were at the beach!
A quick little photo session by the rocks before the beach!
Check out the monastery in the background!
And the weird little fire hydrant! Craziness!
The beach was quaint, but perfect for relaxing
And even more perfect with a Mythos!
The water was a tad chilly, so I mainly hung out on dry land.
Beers on the beach = pure awesomeness
Charles is much more of a water baby than I am!
I did attempt a little dancer in the water, but it was WAY hard!
Not sure if it was the beer or the slight rocking of the tiny waves which hurt my balance.
This is as far as I got with it – and yes, I’m standing, it got deep a few steps out – you would think a pose in the water would be easier, but it’s not!
Much easier to keep your balance on dry land!
The rest of our time in Patmos we spent lying around.
Followed by a little walk around the town.
But before we knew it, it was time to head back to the ship!
All Aboard from Patmos – off to our next destination –> Rhodes!

What a cute little island! It sorta reminds me of the island in Hawaii named Lanai, where there is not much going on, just beautiful coves and beaches.
Looks like so much fun…
Mythos! I worked at a Greek restaurant in grad school and that was the only beer we sold! How fun!
My fiance and I are getting married September 3 and then we are off on a cruise…and it looks like we have a lot of the same stops! I’m loving these posts…it’s a fun little preview!
