Did you know September is National Whole Grain Month? I love my Whole Grains and I try to be very conscious of their frequent appearances in my diet – especially with my current marathon training plan, this girl needs her grains! I was very excited when I was contacted by Quaker Oats and told about the Whole Grains Stampede Sweepstakes going on this month!
What is the Whole Grains Stampede you might ask? Well, during September visit the Whole Grains Council website and share your favorite whole grain products bearing the Whole Grain Stamp to enter the sweepstakes. Your entry puts you in the running for a random drawing to win two great prizes!
Here is what’s up for grabs:
1st Prize | $5,000 of grocery money and a year’s worth of Quaker whole grain products* courtesy of The Quaker Oats Company |
2nd Prize | An iPad2, loaded with food and health apps courtesy of Ultragrain from ConAgra Mills |
Almost 6,000 products in 23 countries use the Whole Grain Stamp on their packaging, to certify that they contain half a serving (8 grams) or more of whole grain ingredients. Before being notified about this contest, I had no idea this was out there. I think its a great little label!

WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR WHOLE GRAINS MONTH?
Get some whole grains in your diet! Here are some fun ways to incorporate more grains in your life:
- Serve brown rice instead of potatoes
- Look for the Whole Grain Stamp
- Use whole wheat pasta
- Bake with whole wheat flour
- Make whole wheat pizza
- Have steel-cut oatmeal for breakfast

What is your favorite way to enjoy whole grains? Do you have a favorite recipe?

I was one of three bloggers selected by Quaker Oats to promote the Whole Grain Stampede during the month of September. I have been compensated for my contributions to the campaign; however, my opinions are entirely my own.

All of my pasta is whole grain now and I’ve just recently started loving quinoa. Who knew!?!
I love whole grain pastas, breads, muffins. I try and look for whole grains in all of my purchases now, including snacks. Pretty easy to find these days!
I do believe all the ideas you’ve offered for your post. They are really convincing and can definitely work. Nonetheless, the posts are too quick for starters. May just you please extend them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.
