Village Whiskeys

This past weekend, after running 20 miles (the last 20 miles before the marathon!), Charles knew the perfect way to my heart – take me out for dinner and drinks!

We wanted to try someplace new so we headed out to Village Whiskeys – we had received a gift card to any of the Garce’s Restaurant Group from Kate & Robert, Charles’ sister & brother, so we decided to put that to use and enjoy a night out!

Obviously at a Village Whiskeys, I believe it’s only right to enjoy a whiskey cocktail.

I started off with the De Rigeur

rye whiskey, aperol, grapefruit, lemon, honey, mint

After checking out the menu I was intrigued by the pickled section.

I ordered the truffled cauliflower to start.

It was served with black olive tapenade, whipped ricotta & toasted sourdough.

It was pretty delicious!

After the pickled cauliflower it was time for another cocktail!

This time I went with the Ward Eight.

rye whiskey, orange, lemon, grenadine – I didn’t know i loved rye whiskey so much, but I do!

Charles is a whiskey guy, scotch is a favorite drink of his. I wanted him to try out one of the whiskey flight’s, but he had different plans.

I have no idea what he ordered but it came in this cute little glass! It was fun to photograph and Charles really liked it too.

For dinner we shared a burger, which was pretty good.

We had a lovely evening at Village Whiskey – I can’t wait to try out the rest of the Garce’s Restaurant Group dining establishments in Philadelphia! I have been to Garce’s Trading Company but I would love to try Amada, Distrito and Tinto – Oh My!

    Village Whiskey looks awesome! I’m a fan of Jose Garces restaurants. I’ve tried Distrio and it was really good! I’ve heard good things about Amada too.

    What a cool place! I’d love to try the Komodo Dragon drink with the egg whites. And I’m a pickle freak, so I’d especially enjoy it there. Too bad I’m not nearby!

    We were at Village Whiskey about a month ago for my boyfriend’s 21st birthday drink. I loved their duck fat french fries and fried shrimp. We went for late night and I was really impressed by their late night menu and service.

    I guess my favorite restaurant group would be Philly’s Steven Starr is that too easy of an answer?

    In Virginia there are a group of restaurants owned by the same company, i.e, Arties, Coastal Flats, Sweetwater, Ozzies, etc. and we love them all. They have some similar menu selections, but then each has their own specialities.

    I just went there two weeks ago – have been wanting to go forever! I got the beets and goat cheese. I love the ambiance there!

    Amada’s is a favorite restaurant of ours – the bar is much more fun to eat at than sitting in the restaurant. if the front bar is crowded, there’s one in the back that you might not know about if you’ve never been there!
