Oh The Places I’ve Been

Today I said goodbye to an old friend.

My passport.

I have had this passport for a while now, it has been with me on many amazing travels but today I had to send it on it’s way.

I am in the final stages of changing everything over to my new name and my passport was next on my list.

It is crazy to look through and see all the places I’ve visited.

I have grown to love my little stamps

Favorite stamps include:

All my stamps from Australia, including a Did Not Depart

A pretty sweet stamp from Fiji – I love being able to say I’ve been there.

Honeymoon stamps from Greece!

and Turkish stamp from Turkey

I have been so blessed being able to fill up so many pages in my passport with stamps from around the globe.

But today I had to say goodbye to my passport along with our marriage certificate and a hefty check in order to be given a brand spankin’ new passport with my new last name.

I wish that we were able to keep our old passports, but I am very much looking forward to receiving my new one and filling it up with awesome stamps from around the globe!

If money or time was not an issue, where would you pick up and travel to right now?

You might get it back. I, too, had a ton of stamps and even ran out of pages and had to get more. I was sad to see it go, but then when I got my new one, they sent the old one back with it. It had been stamped or hole punched so that it didn’t look valid anymore, but I was thrilled to get it back.

You will get your passport back with a whole in the picture. So you can save it!

Yup I just did the name change and got mine back – it comes back along with the new one and your retuned marriage certificate.

For sure you will get it back when they send the new one with your new name. Of course, the old one will be invalid, so no need to worry, it’s a part of your life forever – Don’t lose your marriage license, you’ll need it for other things to do later in life.

You’ll get your old passport back with holes punched in it, which I think is pretty cool.

If I could go anywhere right it would be the Canary Islands and/or South Korea!

When I changed my name I got my old one back. It was just stamped with my new last name in the back. It kinda pissed me off that I spent all that damn money and I all I got was a stamp — but I did get to keep all of my pages!!

I now need to renew mine — can’t believe it’s been 10 years since I got my last one.

I got mine back. I was sad to part with mine when I changed my name too! i got a whole new one though, not just a stamp. But I do have the old one. I haven’t said hi in awhile, hope all is well!
