I love me some mexican.
This weekend I hit up up lolita’s on 13th street in Philadelphia. I must admit that I was drawn in mainly for the margaritas – the blood orange mix was calling my name!
I love that 13th street between Chestnut & Sansom is completely taken over by 6 restaurants & boutiques owned by Marcie Turney & Valerie Safran – it’s a great little spot in Center City with some good eats.
lolita’s is a lovely little restaurant with some tasty food (especially the guacamole!) and even tastier drinks!
If you come to lolita’s be prepared for a few things:
1) it’s cash only, so bring your wallet!
2) bring tequila, it’s BYO, obviously
3) they don’t take reservations and will only seat full parties so be prepared to wait
4) check out the menu before you come, they don’t do alterations or substitutions to the menu
Definitely check our lolita’s if you are in the city, it’s some really great mexican eats!
What is your favorite place for Mexican food?

Just a tip that Lolita is great with food allergies. I have a gluten and dairy issue and it was NO problem for them to make a dish for me. In fact most of their menu is already gluten free!
Hi Leslie – I love you blog! I’m going to be visiting Philadelphia in April and I was wondering if you had any restaurant recommendations? Thanks!
they take reservations sunday-thursday. everything i have ever had there is excellent!
Loved the Blood Orange Margarita’s – they were yummy! Loved the company on Saturday night as well!
