I am running again! Yessssss!
After my groin injury which became an issue during the Marine Corps Marathon this past Fall, I took a few months off from running. I had to make a difficult decision to not run the Philadelphia Marathon – but I ended up having an absolute BLAST cheering my little heart out during the race instead!
I took some time off running after Marine Corps to enjoy the holidays with my friends & family as well as rest my legs – they had a busy year of running in 2011!
I had put running a marathon in 2012 out of my mind this year. I wanted to take some time off from the 26.2 for a bit. I didn’t even have running on my mind until Wednesday morning when I woke up and decided to register for the Broad Street Run.
This will be my second time running the Broad Street 10 Miler – It’s actually the race where I really fell in love with running. 10 miles is my happy race distance, I am excited to race again – and even more excited I got in the race because it sold out in 5 hours!
I also registered for another race on Wednesday morning – the Out & Back Party Run! I’ve never done a 4 mile race before, or a nighttime race so it should be a good time!
I am so excited for the Spring race season to begin!
What races are you excited for in 2012?

Good luck with training and your upcoming races! I’ll be cheering you on in spirit!
Awesome! I’ll be running the Broad Street Run too! This will be the longest I’ve ever run so far! I did the Rock ‘n’ Roll 10K in Brooklyn last fall, so I figure if I can do 6.2, I can do 10 🙂
Congratulations on getting into Broad Street – I made it as well and can’t wait! It’s going to be one of my long runs as I train for my first half marathon at the end of May and I’ve heard it’s really fun to run it, so I’m excited.
Hooray! Finding your happy distance is THE BEST!
I was injured for the last few months and I never thought I would have a fun the standing and cheering a race that I really wanted to do. But really- I had an AMAZING time!
Can’t wait to hear about your training!
Good luck with both of those races! I’m excited about all of my races but mostly my half marathons. I’m running 12 this year!
