During my time on the 40 Days ProgramĀ I came to realize that milk is something that does not serve my body. I was off milk, and most dairy, during the entire 40 days program. 50+ days or so after the cleanse, I introduced milk back into my diet and it was a major shock to my body. I came to realize that milk does not work for me, it was a sad realization, but something that truly made sense.

Since taking milk out of my diet, I have been on the hunt to find new and creative ways to keep my calcium intake up. I stumbled across these tasty chocolate calcium chews during my recent trip to TJs and was instantly excited.

How do you make sure your body is getting enough calcium?

    I’m going to have to look for these! I try to consume calcium and vitamin D every day because it’s essential in our 20’s. My mom is only 52 and just broke a bone when she was out for a jog (she’s very fit) because of osteoporosis. Weak bones are no joke!

  2. Those look yummy. I know when I took multi-vitamins in a gummy format I never missed a day!

    To get more calcium I try to take a supplement, but I also drink milk and eat a lot of yogurt.

  3. You can get calcium from many things that are natural, its actually unnatural to drink cow’s milk as a human. Some good resources are coconut milk, almond milk, sesame seeds, any green vegetable such as kale or collard greens and so on. I haven’t had milk in over two years and haven’t missed it since.

  4. I probably get a lot of my calcium from cheese, but never liked drinking milk. I just started taking those Adora calcium chocolates that Whole Foods sells to make sure that I’m getting enough. They’re so good!

    I too have taken the Adora calcium chews, how do the ones from TJ’s compare to the Adora. I know you have taken both and which one do you like more?
    I eat yogurt every day with wheat germ, oatmeal and flax seeds to get my calcium plus an Adora, also enjoy cheese (dairy is ok for me).
