This weekend I made an appearance at the 2012 Philadelphia International Flower Show. My parents came up from Virginia to drop Jackson off back home after his 2 weeks with the grandparents and we decided to make a day trip into the city for some flower fun!
I have been to the flower show twice before and it always is an amazing sight to see.
Here are some of my favorite flowers from the show:
This year the theme was on Hawaii and the Islands of Aloha – it was really nice to see so many tropical flowers displayed.
Moss Rocks! I loved these!
The flower show official bouquets were very lovely as well.
The show always does such a great job of presenting the flowers in such fun ways. I enjoyed these table setting presentations.
My dad said that if I saw this before the wedding, we would have been in trouble and I would have to agree!
I can’t even imagine how long it took to set all this up but the water displays were particularly lovely to look at.
The Hubs and I among the flowers.
I was so happy my mom & dad got to see the show, I knew they would enjoy it as much as I did.
There was also a really amazing recreation of the USS Arizona memorial, which I have visited in Honolulu. They did a great job of the little details with this presentation as well.
I wanted to hop on the hammock in this scene. Tranquil, no?
The “main event” of the flower show in my opinion was this massive cliff with hundreds of flowers climbing up it boasting a waterfall into a lagoon. Now THAT was a sight to see in the Convention Center!
Aside the waterfall was this simulation area, where you were “underwater” and creatures from the ocean would swim above you. It was a really nice touch!
It was a lovely afternoon with my parents and the hubs!
I wonder what the theme will be next year – I can’t wait to come back!
Have YOU been to the Flower Show? What is your favorite theme they have done?

Loved the show too – it brought back all the wonderful memories of when we were in Hawaii in 2006 as a family. So glad we got to share the day with you and Charles too! Miss my Little Boy…
I once enjoyed a fabulous day at the flower show with my old roommate…
