Easter 2012

This Easter weekend started out beautifully.

Charles, Jackson & I hit the road early on Friday with our sights set on getting out of the city & heading to the beach to spend the holiday with my family. Traffic was looking pretty light and we were hoping to be able to catch dinner down in Bethany Beach, Delaware.

But then a little fender bender set us back a few hours.

Luckily, Charles amazing parents don’t live too far away. They came to our rescue and even offered us a car to continue our trek down to the beach so we could see my family for the holiday.

Best. In laws. Ever.

A few hours back from our original plan we eventually made it down to the beach.

Doesn’t get much better than this.

The rest of the weekend included lots of playtime with Jackson.

Obviously there is LOTS TO Beware of when the sign is bigger than the pup!

More weekend fun included taste testing Charles first home brew.

Relaxing by the Bay, soaking up the sun.

And spending quality time with the family.

Today, Easter morning came and he didn’t forget that we were at the beach. The Easter bunny brought some new treats for Jackson.

My Easter basket was complete with candy, chocolate, lottery tickets & wine.

Charles struck gold with snickers, Reese’s, lottery tickets & beer from the Washington Post’s Best Beer Picks for 2012. Score!

All in all, the weekend ended up being lovely, in spite of the accident. I am so glad we got to go down to the beach and see my family. I seriously can’t wait for summer.

Our first Easter as a Mr. & Mrs. was a big success!
