This weekend my parents came up from Virginia to spend the weekend in Philadelphia with Charles & I {and to bring Jackson home – since he spent the past two weeks with them while we were in the Bahamas!} We had an absolute blast on this gorgeous weekend exploring the city, but the highlight of our weekend was hitting up the Philadelphia Flower Show.
We went last year & my mom and dad loved it so much they were pumped to come up this year to see this year’s theme: London Calling.
From the website: The 2013 Flower Show glows with the majestic beauty and creative genius of Great Britain, and is inspired by centuries of British culture, culminating in the urbane design of modern-day London.
“Brilliant!” takes visitors from royal palaces to the dark and foggy streetscapes of Jack the Ripper. The whimsy of the Mad Hatter’s tea party, the coziness of a country cottage, and the refinement of a manicured cricket club will all come together for a whirlwind tour of the UK.
So please enjoy this {picture-heavy} post:

I really enjoyed the blend of the old & new London as well as the fun twists that were incorporated into the different displays.
Check out Big Ben!
I loved this display of pressed flower petals used to create different images of the royal crown – there were so many gorgeous ones and the best part about the display was that they were all created by kids & teens 18 and under! Pretty cool to have your artwork displayed at the Flower Show.
There was a really cool exhibit dedicated to The Beatles that was fun to check out. My favorite parts were Let It Be & the Yellow Submarine {filled with gorgeous flowers inside!}
I also LOVED the Alice in Wonderland display – it was hard to capture how cool it was to look at in a photo – trust me when I say it was awesome!
Silly photo with my dad & the greens in the background.
There were also a few fun tributes to the fun hats as well as ones The Queen & The Duchess of Cambridge (aka Princess Kate) have worn too – in flower form of course!
There were also various scenes throughout the Flower Show with mini tributes to The Secret Garden.
Before the Flower Show came to an end, we had to take some pics with the Queen, obviously.
As you can tell from the photos, we had a blast- can’t wait for next year! For more fun check out scenes from last year’s Philadelphia Flower Show 2012
