And Her Little Treadmill Workout

I love me a good treadmill workout. It’s a nice thing to be able to bust out on a rainy day – or when there is an awesome House Hunters marathon on that you just can’t pull yourself away from! To me, a treadmill workout has to be more than just running for a certain amount of time or for a certain amount of miles. I need a little extra kick. So today I wanted to share with you my favorite go-to treadmill workout that I use whenever I want to switch things up a bit in my running routine!

So as you can see, this is a 30 minute workout. You can extend or minimize it as you see fit. My favorite part of this workout is  the incorporation of the side shuffle, backwards walking and the lunge twist.The lunge twist is also a cool little extra perk – this can be done with a weight or kettle bell or just on it’s own. It’s a nice way to get some sculpting moves added into your cardio. I usually end this workout with some of my favorite plank a day moves as well.

 I usually get a few crazy looks whenever I start to shuffle or run backwards against the treadmill, but I embrace it in the gym! I love trying to pick up the pace in my side shuffle and increasing the treadmill speed, and I can totally feel it in my legs the next day – I love the freshly worked out feeling!
