Stitch Fix #6 {review}

Ready…Set…Time for Stitch Fix #6!Stitch Fix 6

Once a month, when my Stitch Fix box arrives in the mail, it’s seriously the best day ever! So much fun to wait and see what exciting new & fun items will arrive at my doorstep. I seriously get giddy with excitement!

Jackson gets pretty pumped too

Jackson loves Stitch Fix

So for this Fix, I asked for no accessories {just like last time} and this was also the first time I requested specific items – I actually requested 6 specific tops/dresses that I had seen around the internet & on the Stitch Fix blog, A few of the items I asked for were a little old, so I understand why they didn’t appear in my Fix – but I was a little sad to find out they didn’t have anything I requested. Bummer.

BUT! My stylist Jocelyn did a great job of finding similar items that I was looking for, and a few times even exceeded my expectations!

Note from My Stylist

I think requesting specific items, as well as giving detailed feedback after each Fix is helping my stylists get a better idea of my style & my comfort zone – and how to throw a few surprises in the mix. Which I enjoy.

Here’s what I received in Stitch Fix #6 – Check it out & let me know what you think:

Miilla Trish Embroidered Tank Dress {$58}

This tank is a really pretty navy blue in person – hard to photograph the exact color but it’s really pretty, the color makes it perfect for any season. It also has some seriously great detail from the top to the bottom, the back & the front of this dress. There is a blue soft, stretchy, removable tank underneath the dress, which acts as a liner. And the silk/cotton dress itself is really light and comfortable.

It’s a really great length – I could immediately see how easy this dress would be to throw on and head out the door. It’s cute with any jean jacket or cardigan and I love how the style card above pairs it over leggings and boots which would be so cute for the Fall.

I really like this dress. I am on the fence about it for two reasons:

  1. It easily wrinkles, I hate it when that happens.
  2. I worry it’s a little shapeless on me. I have been looking for a dress/t-shirt dress like this but I think it has to be a little big, but not too big to give that perfect styled fit.

What do you think about this dress? Would love to know your thoughts !

Skies are Blue Jolie Printed Hi-Low Button Up Tank {$58}

When I saw this on the top of the pile upon opening the box, I’m not gonna lie – I was in love. I actually requested something similar with a solid color contrasting collar and I was pumped to see the effort was made to get me something along those lines. I think I may even like this better too!

First of all, I’m obsessed with the blue & seriously in love with this print. It speaks to me. Second of all, I love a good hi – low, and I really love pairing it with skinny jeans/capri’s – such a great look for any occasion. The solid white/navy back of the tank is pretty fun too.

When I put this bad boy on, it’s such a great fit. It’s a little loose and flowy, but doesn’t look sloppy in any way. The style card shows it tucked into a pencil skirt – not sure how that would look on me, but it’s an interesting idea. Either way, I just love the tank paired with jeans, I think it looks great and it certainly feels great. It’s also something that is different from anything in my closet already, which is always a great sign!

I think it’s a keeper, what about you?

Missa Gianna Crochet Top {$88}

This is another item that I requested a similar item and what I received was even better! I think this off-white crochet top is all sorts of awesome. Like the white top I received {and kept!} in my last fix – it’s one of those items you can throw over any color tank, and I enjoy that versatility option even though I love the classic cream on cream look.

I think this would look so cute in the summer with a pair of shorts/or a skirt but I also think its perfect for the transition time in Spring/Fall before it gets too cool, paired with jeans. The cut-outs on the top are really pretty, I love the detail and the soft,   durable feel of the top itself – you can feel how well made it is when you touch it. This is a quality top, and it should be for the price!

When I put this on, I was immediately in love. Seriously, I need a white/off-white top intervention. I want them all and especially love this one. I also really like the subtle, studded detail on the bottom of the tank – a nice little addition, if I do say so myself {and I do!}

I do have lace/silk tops that are somewhat similar but the fact that this is crochet {and I don’t own any crochet} makes this totally, completely different – right? Right?!?

The price is a little more than I would usually spend on a top, especially one that is a little more on the casual end of things, but it’s well made and I really like it. I know I would wear it a lot.

What do you think? Love it or Leave it?

Sugarhill Boutique Adley Ladybug Print Button-Up Tank {$48}

This top reminds me of the red top from my last fix, which I didn’t end up keeping – but I think I prefer that one to this one. I’m not loving the sleeveless-ness of this tank. It also has little lady bugs on it, which are cute, but not really for me. But I could see how this could be cute paired with black or white bottoms for a adorable summery look {especially the white!}

Lady Bug Print Button Up Tank

When I put it on – Holy Sheer! I mean, I have a nude tank underneath and it just made the tank look all sorts of see-through. Not sure what would be better to put underneath – maybe red? I don’t know but this is not really for me. Plus it’s a little on the shorter end, compared to what I usually wear.

I’m not really feeling this tank, are you?

Fiancee Camryn Striped Open Knit Cardigan {$48}

This cardigan is really cute and super soft. I enjoy the mint/cream color combination. I could easily see how this would be cute paired with jeans or white bottoms – I love the colors for the beach. I also enjoy how I already own the black skirt suggested by the style card below. Win!

Camryn Striped Open Knit Cardigan

When I put this cardigan on – I like it, but I don’t love it. It was hard to photograph the color punch that the top actually has in person, looks super light in the photos below. I just think I like the top 3 items in the fix a little more than this cardigan, so I am leaning towards not keeping this.

What do you think?

So there you have it – the 5 items I received in this month’s Stitch Fix – now comes the hard part, deciding what to keep! As of now, I am leaning towards keeping #2 and I am deciding between #1 and #3.

What do you think? What’s your favorite?

I always love your comments, suggestions and thoughts so feel free to share!

    Hi Leslie,
    I’ve been a lurker on your blog for a few weeks (found you when I was doing some reading on juicing) and have been an avid follower ever since! Have recently started my own blog, and today’s post was inspired by yours 🙂 Loving number 3 – you can never have too many white tops!

    I like #2 and #3 – the dress is a little boxy for you – no shape, maybe try it with a belt and see. Do like the color/detail though!

    I like #2 and #3, but crochet top the most. Dress is a bit shapeless, too bad because it is a pretty fabric.

  • Reply Catherine June 7, 2013 at 6:48 pm

    I definitely like #3. I also like #1 but I think it would look best with a white or grey belt to give it shape.

  • Reply Laura June 10, 2013 at 12:34 pm

    I really like #1 — feel like it has season-spanning possibilities. The #3 top is really pretty — I would see how similar it was to things I already had to help decide.

    Crochet top! The dress is nice but not a great shape on — the crochet top is exactly as you describe.
