Baby Bump: 20 Weeks Pregnant

20 Weeks20 Weeks Banana

How far along are you? 20 Weeks! We have officially hit the halfway mark for the pregnancy! I can’t believe it – time has gone by so slow and yet so fast at the same time. And it’s weird to think that I want it to speed up and slow down at the same time now too. I can’t wait to meet our new baby but I also want to continue to enjoy this pregnancy and watch my body grow.

How I’m feeling: Feeling great! There is a lot going on in our life right now as we are packing up to leave for South America for two weeks this weekend and at the same time packing up our apartment to move but it’s all good things. It’s a little crazy but it’s actually all happening at a perfect time in my pregnancy as I am feeling really good and am still able to do so much!

Total weight gain: Up about 5 pounds from my last doctor’s appointment, will be updating monthly after each visit.

How big is baby? Baby is now being measured head-to-heel as opposed to head-to-rump, like it has been measured in the past 19 weeks. He {yay!} is about the length of a banana, which seems pretty big to me – I think he will be going through a pretty serious growth spurt in the next few weeks, I can feel it coming on!

Maternity clothes: I have been living in a few main things – this short sleeve henley collar button tee and this v-neck side ruched t-shirt {I picked up both in multiple colors} – I got a few a couple weeks ago for $7 each on sale! Love them! I am also obsessed with these seamless tank tops – I got them in all 3 colors & pretty much wear them everyday. Obsessed.

Sleep: All over the place with sleep – going to bed early, waking up early – there isn’t any rhyme or reason to it. Also, I heart my Snoogle & am mentally preparing myself to be without it for the next two weeks.

Best moment this week: Our anatomy scan! On Friday, Charles and I went to our much anticipated anatomy scan to check in on Baby Brinks and make sure everything is progressing as it should be. I feel like we had been waiting for this appointment FOR.EV.ER. Seriously! Luckily, everything looks great and we had a really sweet technician taking us on a tour of all our little baby’s parts – such a special moment! The appointment took a little longer than we thought it would because baby was laying on his back and the technician needed baby to be on his stomach to get the best view of his spine, so I had to walk around and change positions and take bathroom breaks to get the baby to flip – it eventually worked and we got a great view of a beautiful spine! Hands down the best moment of the week!

Movement: Feeling a little bit more each and every week. I *think* I felt a kick or two, but I am waiting for a more definite kick to really celebrate that – and I really can’t wait for Charles to be able to feel them too!

Food cravings: All.The.Orange.Juice. Smoothies, Chocolate Milk, Macaroons – not into real meals this week, lots of small meals and snacks. Also, I’m currently really into breakfast & seriously am craving a bagel & cream cheese right now…

Food aversions: Chicken. I’m also not into the stuff I can’t have {like deli meat & booze} which is a good thing.

What I Miss: Being able to do anything & everything I want. We have our trip to Chile starting this weekend & I know there are a few potential activities in the works {zip lining, snow tubing, hot springs} that I know I won’t be able to participate in. Tear. Luckily, there is a spa on premises, so I see another prenatal massage in my future!

What I’m looking forward to: Our trip to Chile {we leave Saturday!} & our upcoming move into our new house!

Milestone: We were so blessed to be able to share our gender reveal with both my parents & Charles’ parents this weekend. Both families had planned a weekend down at the beach last Winter and it just so happened to be perfect timing to share our gender news with our parents together! My family lives in Virginia & Charles’ parents live in New Jersey so its not too often we get to spend time with both families together.

For our gender reveal we knew that Charles & I would find out the gender at our appointment and we wanted to surprise our families with the news. The two weeks before the cupcake reveal we had our family & friends guess their gender pick by putting their thumbprint in either pink or blue, along with their initials on a 8 x 10 piece of paper with a crawling baby. We love the thumbprints turning into balloons and it’s going to be really cute displayed in the nursery! Turns out most of our family and friends guessed we would be having a boy!

I craved OJ too during my pregnancy. I think we went through 2 containers a week! Also, little boys are the best 🙂
