Baby Bump: 30 Weeks Pregnant

30 weeks

Things have changed a little bit in the past 30 weeks!

10 15 20 25 30

How far along are you? 30 weeks pregnant – I can’t believe it! We have less than 10 weeks to go at this point, which is sp crazy. With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, the little guy will be here before we know it! Feels like such a milestone to be at the 30 week mark – we are closing in on the home stretch!

How I’m feeling: Feeling good – still suffering from heartburn & bending over is becoming more of an issue but I feel really good overall and I am so happy that this pregnancy has been {knock on wood} so enjoyable for me this far. Cross your fingers is continues like this for the next 10 weeks!

Total weight gain: Up 13 pounds since my last appointment – my next appointment is next Wednesday & then I will be going every 2 weeks after that!

How big is baby? Baby is weighing in at almost 3 pounds {according to my iPhone app} – which is about the size of a head of cabbage. Apparently at this point, baby is strong enough to grasp a finger, which is pretty cool to think about!

Maternity clothes: We had our first glimpse of snow in Philadelphia this morning – which is perfect timing for me since the majority of my jackets are no longer zipping/buttoning up {sense my sarcasm}. Sort of a bummer that the real cold & winter weather will be upon us when I will be at my biggest for this pregnancy. I still am refusing to purchase anymore maternity clothes which is forcing me to get creative with my wardrobe – Luckily, my style pre-pregnancy consists of a lot of skinny jeans and looser tops, which I have been able to still get away with up until this point. I need to layer, because the belly isn’t 100& covered by some of my non-maternity tops, but I can still make it work. And when I can’t make it work, I just let the belly hang out!

Side Note: I think I went through a bit of a growth spurt between the beginning of last week & yesterday, because I am wearing this flannel top right now and I can only get one or two buttons to close together, and they are holding on for dear life!

Sleep: This past week I have been going to bed early – around 9pm or so – and waking  up early – sometimes before 6am. I am finding that if I wake up anytime after 5am to pee, I rarely can get back to sleep, which is sort of a bummer. But it makes going to bed early easier since I am tired by the end of the day – really trying to get that extra sleep in whenever I can!

Best moment this week: Round 2 of our maternity shoot! I had so much fun and I can’t wait to see all the finalized pictures myself and them share them on the blog!

Movement: Baby is still moving around a lot – more movements where you can really see parts of him popping out of my belly. Last night, Charles & I watched his head {or bum?} pop out on the right side of my belly button and then kicks or punches down below towards my pelvis. Some of these kicks I couldn’t even see as they were on the lower side of my belly that is no longer in my vision, but Charles could see them and he said they were crazy to watch! It’s funny how he can now see things I can’t!

Jackson + Baby Bump

Food cravings: Everything Bagels with cream cheese, Hot Chocolate, Muesli

Food aversions: I have come to the conclusion that fruits and vegetables give me heartburn – it’s been annoying to deal with because I am really trying to keep my diet fairly balanced, but I pay for it later! And my cravings have totally changed due to my heartburn as well, I find myself not as hungry throughout the day and things I was obsessed with weeks ago – especially citrus things like Honey crisp Apples or OJ – are no longer enjoyable to me.

What I Miss: Over-easy eggs!

What I’m looking forward to: Setting up the nursery! My need to nest is in FULL EFFECT! Now that the painting is complete, we will be setting up the crib & nightstand this weekend. Last week I called about the dresser we ordered and it’s still on backorder – they aren’t sure when it’s coming in, which is totally annoying, but I’m crossing my fingers it will be here soon so I can organize it. My rocker & ottoman should also be coming in sometime in the next few weeks – I can’t wait for that to arrive – all I want to do is sit in it and rock back and forth!

Prenatal Yoga

Milestone: I went to prenatal yoga class for the first time this past week. I can’t believe it took me so long to get there but it was really nice. The only thing that was a bummer was my heartburn, each and every pose that had me bend over caused discomfort – no fun! I am attempting to go every week because it felt good to take a class and stretch and meet some new moms-to-be!

You’re inspiring me to get creative with my pre-pregnancy wardrobe! And I’m only 24 weeks. I may buy a sweater or two but I don’t want to get crazy. Tempted to buy some new boots to take me through winter, as swelling has commenced (so no more rings and got a silver band to wear). What glider did you end up with? We’re leaning towards the Dutalier (sp).

Thanks Marisol – boots are a must for me, I am over bending over to tie anything! I am going to do a nursery post once everything gets here, I’ll share our glider info when/if it ever arrives! Is it me, or is everything backordered when it comes to babies right now?!

Yes! I think it’s an evil ploy by manufacturers to make us even more stressed :-/

Look forward to the nursery post!

Wow Wee – my grandson certainly has blossomed this past week! I can’t wait to see you/him in person next Friday for the VA shower!
